Read moreStaying at the beautiful Amari Bangkok is such a treat! Firstly I have to mention the exceptional care and hospitality of the staff, from the smiling, friendly staff at the door, those who help with the luggage, the cleaning team and also the club staff and managers....everyone at the Amari has been super kind and friendly and we feel very spoilt and taken care of! Thank you for acknowledging our wedding anniversary, we truly appreciate that. We had the pleasure of staying in the Club Premier King Room, wow what a gorgeous, spacious room. The bed is luxurious and comfy, you can even can choose from 5 different pillows to suit your sleeping needs from a pillow menu. We loved the complimentary snacks and drinks in the room, and even the delicious chocolates when we arrived. The bathroom is beautiful, we loved the double sink and the shower is massive! Love all the different lights in the room to set the mood. The room even has a coffee machine, too. Beautiful furnishings. The hotel's exclusive executive lounge is known as Club Siraa and is a beautiful space for guests staying in the Club rooms. This definitely elevates your stay and we highly recommend upgrading to enjoy the benefits. You can either enjoy a buffet breakfast at Amaya Food Gallery or enjoy a more quieter breakfast at Club Siraa, and they also offer a snack bar from 11am to 2pm, then a wonderful Thai afternoon tea from 2pm to 4pm and then you are able to enjoy from 5:30pm to 7:30pm cocktails and canapés!!! They offer so much, and every bit of what they offer is classy and delicious! Definitely one of the best club rooms we have stayed at. The area the Amari is situated in is most certainly a shoppers dream, it is right opposite Platinum shopping mall, which then connects to the sky walk to Central World and Big C and many other incredible places to see. It is right next to Pratunam market and shopping alleys and also a very short walking distance to the Indra and the Palladium for more great shopping. There is also a couple of wonderful well know restaurants inside the Amari that offer some amazing dishes which we are yet to try, and they quite often offer some kind of promotion, so keep an eye out! The pool is lovely, but whats notably amazing is the changing rooms which offer little touches that other places do not. There is a sauna and steam room too. One thing I havent checked out is the beauty spa, but I did look at their treatments and they look incredible if you want to feel brand new and be pampered! The Amari Bangkok is in such a prime, perfect location and offers the very best hospitality. For a large hotel, we certainly felt the kindness and felt at home. A memorable stay and we can't wait...
Read moreOur family of three, including my wife and our young child, faced a series of disappointments during our stay at the Amari Bangkok, with the most significant one occurring on the third day.
On the first day, we encountered a few issues that I chose to overlook, such as a bathroom with visible cracks and falling cement , and a room that wasn't cleaned until 4:30 PM, despite multiple reminders. When the cleaning finally happened, a soft toy of our little kid was mistakenly taken by the cleaning staff and only returned on the fourth day, after we couldn't find it anywhere.
However, the incident on Day 3 was truly disheartening. During breakfast, a staff member named Fai, who was the hostess, stopped us at the main entrance, insisting that my wife, dressed in shorts and a top, was not adhering to the hotel's dress code and would not be allowed to enter without changing. When I asked her to specify which of the five dress codes mentioned on their placard my wife was violating, she couldn't provide a clear explanation or justification. She continued to insist that my wife needed to change.
Just as the situation was escalating, Jeffrey, Fai's manager, intervened. To my surprise, he informed me that the issue wasn't with my wife but with our 5-year-old son, who was wearing a cord set. According to Jeffrey, this attire was not permitted under the hotel's dress code. This was a clear misjudgment, and it was even more frustrating that the staff couldn't communicate their concerns clearly or accurately. I also pointed out that there were at least three other children in the restaurant at the time, all dressed similarly, who were not asked to change.
The issue had to be escalated to Mr. Chaowalit, the Hotel Manager. He confirmed that all of us were appropriately dressed and that the dress code policies do not apply to a 5-year-old child.
This experience highlighted significant issues with the staff's judgment and communication skills. It was deeply disappointing to be treated this way, especially when we were not in violation of any rules. Moreover, the inconsistency in how the staff applied the dress code policy only added to our frustration.
I believe that these issues need to be addressed and brought to the attention of the appropriate management to ensure that such problems are corrected and do not happen again. Unfortunately, an email to the General Manager of the hotel remains unanswered, which may indicate a lack of...
