The Pho Thong Phuket — Hotel in Ratsada

I'm really happy I stayed in Phuket town- as I arrived by bus and left by airport bus- you're going to need a scooter anyways. This hotel is perfectly located right between the bus station and Old Town (@2 blocks in each direction). Old Town was so much more mellow than the rest of this chaotic island so I'm glad I stayed here. Very nice staff- in fact, when I lost my phone- Kik lead me on her scooter to the police station kinda late at night (as I was able to "locate" my phone location on my computer). They speak basic English here. Very clean and nice rooms. Coffee and water (hot/cold) provided all day. Just for your info: they will recommend a nearby scooter place who turned me away because I didn't have a international license... but if you walk down the street a little further for @4-5 minutes, there is another very nice gentleman who will rent you a bike no problem. Location is the only good thing about this place, if you wish to stay in old Phuket, away from hustle. Easy commute to airport with a bus stop nearby.

Cons: No lift. God help you if you got a heavy luggage. These people won’t send anyone for help. No receptionist before 12pm. No province for early check in. No one would even receive your call before 12pm. No storage space in the room. No cupboards, drawers, bedsize table, etc. No space to keep your things organised. No table or chair. The kettle was not working. No resolution provided The light was also not working. The technician visited and fixed in our absence. We of course didn’t permit this visit. Very spacious and pleasant room. It was nice to have a shower curtain though there were no hangers in the bathroom which was a bit uncomfortable and the mattress was pretty stiff. The cleaning lady was also very nice and gave us new toilet paper and water bottles when she saw us go out while she cleaned the room next door. Regarding the location we were right next to the Sunday Night Market street and most of the restaurants we wanted to visit which was great. The staff was nice but it was quite weird that when we payed for one of the nights(each night we payed for one night ahead) the employee at the reception that took the payment said that we will get a receipt the day after and we did but on the first night we got the receipt for that same night on the spot.
