A fantastic boutique hotel! The location is very good, at the old town of Bangkok. Unlike the Sukhumvit side, this part of Bangkok, on the opposite of the river, where the palaces, main temples, government ministries are, is clean and calm. The particular neighbourhood of 1905 Heritage Corner is a beautiful "experimental" housing community from one of the prince of a distant past. The hotel is surrounded with great food - lots of small eateries and the best beef noodle and home made ice cream you can find. There are no big international hotels in this area - 1905 is small but the service will beat even Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok. The restoration, the details and the quality of finishing by Mark and Nan is phenomenon - again, the best I have seen in Thailand or anywhere in the world. The room and bathroom are 5 star hotel standard. We look forward to every breakfast and tea. During breakfast or tea, on top of the delicious food presented, Mark and Nan will also present different local street dishes and deserts. (Tip: For your afternoon tea, Mark can even arrange for to get that "BEST" street beef noodle and serve it at the hotel for you... wow!). Each meal is a delight not just because of the quality of the fruits, food and introduction of different delicious street food, it is also the service and attentiveness of Mark... who is ever ready to share anecdotes of Thai culture, cuisine etc... Mark is also very good, very detail in advising where you should visit depending on your interest .. For example, we chat about good coffee, vinyl records and our creative interest and he would patiently list down where we should go ... and because this boutique hotel only has 3 rooms, you will always get the full attention of Mark and Nan. Nan arranged a wonderful "history, culture and architectural" tour with "Erk" and I highly recommend this 3-4 hours walk! Overall, the price we paid is too cheap for the quality...
Read moreIf you want a little piece of bangkok’s history, and a beautiful, clean, awesome place to stay, stay here. The staff are amazing and so attentive since there are only three rooms. You’re also very well located to the grand palace, emerald buddha, reclining buddha, the flower market, river, everything.||The interior is so beautiful with all wood paneling and antique furniture. The bed was very comfortable, and the rooms are well laid out. The air-conditioning works very well, and even though you’re in the heart of bangkok, it’s quiet because you’re tucked away from the main road. There’s a kettle and coffee/tea, etc., plus a mini fridge, and smart TV.||Bathroom was good, with plenty of hot water and good pressure. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion all provided. The bathroom could use more hooks though – bathrooms in hotels never have enough hooks 😉||The breakfast is very good; you choose what you'd like to eat from a menu the day before, and there are more traditional choices, or western-style breakfasts, like eggs benedict. You also get juice, fruit, coffee, tea, toast, etc. The staff is very accommodating and very nice.||The staff also arranged a driver for us to go to erawan falls for the day, as well as our transfer back to the airport - both were reasonably priced.||We wished we could've stayed...
Read moreA quiet little gem of a place in Bangkok but it has the feel of a ranch house in the rural areas of Texas. Such a romantic upscale room I had. Hardwood floors. Very regal in appearance. Wonderful bed that was amazingly comfortable. I almost didn't even want to leave for each day's sight seeing excursions. Soft luxurious white sheets with high thread count. Heavenly soft pillows. Detailed hard woods throughout a spacious bedroom and a fantastic shower with plenty of hot water. |A special thank you to Kheong (I hope I spelled her name correctly) for having such a wonderful place to welcome guests. My room even had a nice welcoming post card specially written for me. And some nice Thai customary gifts to make me feel at home in their country. |Her staff of Arm, Mark, and May treated me like royalty. Always ready to answer any question and provided me with transportation call outs to the city and then to the airport as well. |I was served a WONDERFUL breakfast each morning. It was nice to feel at home in my first journey to Bangkok. |This place is incredibly CLEAN and smells so fresh at any time of day. Such a pleasure to have been one of their guests. |I hope to visit 1905 Heritage Corner again. Such a...
