After wandering in the heat around the Grand Palace, I slipped into this café for a little break. The vibe is cozy with a touch of vintage—felt like the right spot to cool down.

Tried their latte. Nothing over the top, just a good strong cup—stronger than the usual ones I get. Didn’t manage to try the cakes since it wasn’t really the time for it.

AC was cool, free tap water on hand, and the bathroom was clean (though the soap ran out when I needed it—little detail, but hey 😅).

They’ve got some fun merch too—shirts, tote bags, things like that. Staff was kind, even if we hit a few language bumps here and there.

Craftsman Roastery is such a charming café in Bangkok’s Old Town, just a short walk (100 meters) from Neighbor Phuthon. The space perfectly blends modern design with the beauty of preserved historic architecture. You can really feel the Old Town atmosphere while enjoying great coffee and cakes.

The interior is beautifully designed, with plenty of character and attention to detail — every corner feels cozy yet stylish. The coffee is excellent, and the cakes are a perfect match. It’s definitely one of the best places to relax, enjoy the vibe, and take in both history and modern creativity in one spot.

This shop is very possessive about water.

They make it complicated when I tried to ask for a glass of water, by first saying they only have mineral water, which I replied if it’s for sell then never mind. Then they started asking what did we order, which included one pour-over coffee, a cake, and a bun for both of us. They explain that usually they let customers bring their empty coffee cups for a water refill, but how to do so when we’re still having our coffee?

10/10 will caffeinate you back to life. After braving the Grand Palace crowds, I stumbled across this roastery. The interiors immediately calmed me down and I enjoyed reading “The Art of Feeling Better” while waiting for my coffee. I got the iced coffee with condensed milk which was sweet enough to revive my soul but not so sweet that I felt like I had 10 shots of sugar. If Bangkok has you hot and tired from the midday heat, this coffee shop will fix your mood and your blood sugar.
