This was my first time in Bangkok and my first hotel in this wonderful city. For me, this was one of the best hotel experiences on my recent travels. From first contact, to the drive to the airport and the end of the stay, the staff were helpful, kind and very informative about things to do, places to visit in the city of Bangkok and just genuine in their day to day interactions. The room was clean, spacious and well maintained. The breakfast was wonderful, with excellent quality of food and lots of choice. In my opinion the breakfast was above the level of 'usual' hotel breakfasts in hotels. The hotel is close to Chinatown and Hua Lamphong train station, so the location was ideal. The area is quiet, and the hotel was quiet ( I asked for a quiet room), which was again perfect for my needs. One of the most important parts of a hotel experience (for me ) is the people who run and manage the hotel. The manageress was kind, helpful with travel tips and each morning took time to say 'hello' to all the guests. The staff took an interest in my plans, suggested travel tips and just took the time to be present with the guests, it felt like a small community. Finally, it was my birthday during the stay and the staff celebrated this in a most wonderful way. I would visit this hotel again , and would recommend this hotel to...
Read moreI visited Ago Hotel in early May this year, which makes this review a late one. The best element of this property is its owners. K. Vee and K. Ploy were so kind to me. On the day of my check-in, I lost my bank cards and after going through the process of lodging entries and making an enormous number of calls, it was late in the night by the time I reached the hotel. The hotel owners were so warm and welcoming, and they helped me to make a few phone calls to the local bank. As the hotel kitchen was closed, they were kind enough to drive me to a famous local street food stall to grab a Crab fried rice, and then they made sure to drop me safely back at the hotel. The kindness that they extended to me was heartwarming and touching. Thank you so much for being so kind and helpful that night!!
The hotel is nestled in a nice quiet corner in Chinatown and the hotel is well maintained and clean. The breakfast includes many options, and their authentic Chinese breakfast is a must-try. The hotel is well-maintained. The room is cosy and very clean. If you are planning a trip to Chinatown don’t think twice about booking this property for your stay. The hotel’s front desk officer Ms. Mai was also very kind and helpful. I got nothing but so much gratitude for Mr. & Mrs. Ploy and Vee. Thank you for making my stay a...
Read moreFor my trip, last minute I learned that I was going alone. I didn't really know much about the cutlure or anything about how things work. Arriving at Ago Hotel Chinatown was my first real event after the airport. I felt like I was staying at someones home. Every time without fail, I was greeted with a big smile, and a hello. I was a little unsure about a possible language barrier, but this was soon relinquished as the hotel staff could all easily understand what I was saying. There was not at all a time where I felt uncomfortable, or neglected. I went out just about every day to explore the city. When I came back, my room was absolutely spotless, the bed was made, and the towels were all clean and folded (in a fancy fashion as well for a bonus). The food that they offered was amazing, even thinking about it makes my mouth water. I even often asked for tourism tips such as cool places to visit, activities to do locally, and lots of other stuff. Rating Ago Hotel 5 stars (excellent) doesn't do a good enough justice in my mind, but I guess it will have to do. For anyone looking for a small, efficient, relatively cheap, and welcoming place to stay in Bangkok, I highly reccoment that you stay...
