Casual Dining at an Edgy Place
Getting lost in Chinatown, Bangkok, can lead to some unexpected detours. If you’re lucky, you’ll find yourself in Talad Noi, a neighborhood that still holds onto the raw, artistic grit that gentrification hasn’t yet polished out. Hidden inside The Warehouse community space, past industrial hallways and artist studios, up to the fourth floor, is Electric Sheep—a restaurant that feels like it belongs in a dystopian sci-fi novel. Dark, neon-lit, graffiti-covered, the kind of place where you half expect to find a replicant bartending.
Chefs Amerigo Tito Sesti and Yoan Martin, both Michelin-trained veterans from J’aime Bangkok, have carved out a space that flips the fine-dining script. Mediterranean flavors, Thai ingredients, wood-fired cooking, all tied together with a serious commitment to sustainability. They run on solar power during the day. No gas. No wasteful excess. Just fire, smoke, and damn good food.
The menu? Mushroom skewers with fermented lime. Crispy duck carbonara with local cheese. Dishes that feel both ancient and futuristic. Sesti and Martin aren’t just running a restaurant; they’re experimenting with what dining can be.
Fine dining without the bullshit. Or, as foodies have rebranded it: Casual Dining. The quality? Michelin-level layers, flavors, execution. The experience? Laid-back, unpretentious. No need to dress up or impress anyone—just good food, good wine, good people.
And let’s talk about the space. No sterile hotel lobby. No soulless shopping mall corner. Just a revived old building with real energy. Plastic-waste tables. Upcycled chairs. Graffiti-splashed walls. Forget those multi-million-dollar restaurant interiors designed for Instagram. This is a set for a film that hasn’t been written yet.
With Electric Sheep, Sesti and Martin prove that creativity isn’t just for the plate. This is art-school energy with chef-level discipline. Sitting with them, talking about food, fire, and sustainability, feels like being back in a studio surrounded by true artists. Except this time, I get to eat their work.
If this is where dining is headed—if these kinds of chefs, these kinds of restaurants, have a...
Read moreWell I wish I could put a good review but except for the lovely greeting I got it all went downhill from there Booked a table in advance to make sure I will be able to have that dining experience that is very important when you come from far away. first I was sat next to a group of 10 people in a private room , very weird feeling being a solo diner , after telling the hostess I'm not comfortable sitting in a very noisy function room by myself I was moved to a different room which was very hot and didn't have any ventilation and after asking again they moved me again to the main dining area that was proper.. 1 hour after arriving I was able to order , I had the 9 course set for 1650baht menu not cheap but I was thinking maybe it's worth it.. all of the dishes are bite-size and I came very hungry ( big mistake) non of the 9 dishes were out of the ordinary, service was lacking explaining some of them.. One of the dishes was grilled mushroom on a skewer, the diah was cold ,bland, watery, not very nice to eat . First 5 mini dishes were rushed out almost feeling like they really wanted you out . After the 5th mini dish they dropped a very sad set of cut breads ( probably to fill me up ) ( see picture) without any explanation why it's on the table The glory dish was the squid mushroom and macadamia nuts, the dish was balanced correctly and was warm , not like the others but yet very small 2 mouthfuls and it's gone. Dessert was nice but I can't believe I need to go somewhere to fill my stomach up .I understand that the chef's come from a well known training back round but I think you guys have a lot more to learn about hospitality being able to charge that amount of money for what I had there Overall a very disappointing experience Set menu + 1 cocktail+ sparkling water...
