BEWARE: Many reviews here are likely FAKE and I only booked here because of the good previous Reviews, which just don't reflect the truth.
I stayed one night at Bangkok Best House Hotel and strongly advise caution before booking. The hotel is located deep in a dark alley near Pratunam Market, a location so inconvenient that no taxi driver wants to drop you off nearby. I had to walk 15 minutes dragging all my luggage just to reach the hotel.
The building is very old and the rooms show no signs of renovation. Initially, they assigned me a room on the top floor where the hallway was pitch dark and smelled terrible. The room itself had a heavy gutter-like smell. When the staff asked to spray Febreze, it felt pointless, only a temporary fix, so I denied and had to ask several times for a different Room, before they agreed. Fortunately, they relocated me to a 4th-floor room with a slightly better smell, but the interior was still worn-out and the air conditioners looked like relics from another era. Even at the lowest setting of 16°C, the aircon barely cooled the room.
Noise was a constant issue. Doors slammed loudly at night along with loud, drunken conversations in the hallways. The morning brought heavy construction noise plus the railway trains passing right next to the hotel...it felt like I was sleeping inside a construction site due to extremely poor soundproofing.
The mattress was okay, but sleep was impossible. When it was time to leave, no Bolt or Grab drivers would pick me up due to the hotel’s terrible location. Over 10 drivers canceled on me, so I had to walk over 10 minutes with my bags again just to find a main road where taxis would finally accept my ride request.
On a positive note, the staff were friendly, the Hotel is close to Pratunam Market, and the free breakfast was basic, but at least included Toast & Jam, plus Tea & instant Coffee.
Overall, I was very glad I booked only one night. Think carefully before...

I stayed for 1 night at Bangkok Best House Hotel and honestly wouldn’t recommend it. The place is tucked away in a dark alley near Pratunam Market and no taxi driver wants to drop you off close. I had to drag my luggage for 15 minutes just to get there. The hotel is super old and the rooms haven’t been updated at all. They first put me on the top floor where the hallway was dark and smelled awful and the room reeked like a gutter. The staff offered to spray some Deodorant, but that just felt like a quick cover-up. I got moved to a 4th-floor room that smelled a bit better, but everything inside looked worn out and the aircon was ancient. Even on the coldest setting, it barely cooled the room. Noise was a big problem. Doors kept slamming and there were loud drunk people in the hall talking at night and in the early morning.
The next morning, construction noise and trains right next to the hotel woke me up early. The soundproofing is basically nonexistent. The mattress was okay, but I couldn’t really sleep. When I checked out, I couldn’t get any Bolt or Grab drivers to pick me up because of the location: over 10 Drivers canceled on me. I had to walk 10+ minutes with my bags to a main road before I could get a taxi. At least the staff were friendly, it’s close to Pratunam Market and the free breakfast was very basic, with toast and Jam only, plus Tea & instant Coffee. I’m glad I only booked one night. Think twice before booking here!
Funny anecdote: Eating Basic Food in the Room is forbidden, with a warning of being charged 2000 Baht in case. Sounds like a Joke to me, if you have Interiour from...
Read moreThis hotel literally lives up to its name. When I stayed here, it felt like I was in my own house, so you definitely get a homey vibe. It's not fancy by any means but the facilities they provided were sufficient, for me at least. The rooms we stayed in and the building itself were quite old, but I can see it's clean and well taken care of. One thing that stood out to me here is the customer service, the staff that I met here were all kind and polite. I haven't seen customer service this good at any other hotel in Thailand that I've stayed at.
It's important to note though if you're bringing an extra person (say you ordered one standard room meant for 2 people but your group consists of 3 people), you will be charged an additional 500 baht for each night you're staying here (this fee doesn't give you an extra bed). There is the option to upgrade to a triple row room (so 1 queen sized bed, 1 single sized bed, and 1 small sofa), but you will be charged extra. No, this doesn't stack with the 500 baht fee from before, you're only paying for the amount they're charging you for the upgrade.
Overall, everything was great here. I wouldn't mind staying here again if I had the chance to do so. Hope this...
