I am very disappointed with my experience at Ferman Pera Hotel, especially due to the behavior of the front desk staff. On the day I arrived, everything went well. I was accompanied by a friend who helped me with my luggage, and the staff was welcoming. But the next day, everything changed. We returned to my room to separate our belongings after doing some shopping and walking around a lot. My friend simply needed to use the bathroom before leaving. As soon as we went up, we were called and asked to come back down. At that point, the receptionist made an inappropriate remark to my friend, asking her to stay downstairs while I went up alone to get her things — as if she were suspicious or unwelcome. It was humiliating and completely inappropriate. But the most unacceptable part came afterwards. While I was taking a nap in my room, housekeeping entered without knocking, and shortly after, the receptionist called me to ask if I was alone or with a guest — in a suspicious tone, as if I had done something wrong. When I expressed my discomfort, he simply said “we are sorry” in a sarcastic, almost mocking way.I understand that there may be rules about guests, but it would have been more professional to explain them from the beginning instead of accusing and humiliating me like that. And above all, calling guests in their room to check if they are alone is not a proper or respectful practice. Is this standard procedure? Do you call all rooms like that? I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone who values respect and privacy. I will not be...
Read moreI stayed 8 nights in the Junior Suite for work. The bed was comfortable and the terrace was spacious, but overall the experience was disappointing.
The bathroom door was broken and dismantled inside the room, giving zero privacy. The shower drain was clogged with hair and the bathroom had visible dirt (see photos). Basic maintenance and cleaning were clearly neglected.
The terrace had no umbrella. Staff told me it was broken in a storm 5 months ago, but it had never been replaced. The lighting in the room was very harsh and uncomfortable. Wi-Fi barely worked during my entire stay.
Even though I paid the price for a 2-person Junior Suite, I was not allowed to have visitors, which made the terrace unusable for meetings.
Reception staff were polite and available 24/7, but often avoided dealing with problems such as the Wi-Fi. One day, the receptionist entered my room at midday without knocking, bringing in a random person who sprayed what looked like water in a corner with the excuse of fumigating for insects. It seemed like they suspected I was not alone in the room. Entering a guest’s room without knocking or proper notice is completely unacceptable.
This hotel has potential because of its location and terrace, but poor cleanliness, lack of maintenance, unprofessional behavior and unhelpful policies made my stay frustrating. Definitely not worth the...

I had a wonderful experience staying at Hotel Ferman Pera in Istanbul. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm hospitality and friendly atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Special thanks to Mr. Baran and Mr Hamid at the front desk, who were always available with a smile—day or night—as the front desk is open 24/7.
The team was incredibly helpful. They assisted me with my luggage and even helped me set up a local SIM card and internet on my phone, which made my stay so much easier. The hotel offers pick-up and drop-off services, which was very convenient, and they also organize boat tours with transportation included—an amazing way to explore Istanbul!
The hotel is spotlessly clean and very quiet, perfect for a relaxing stay. It's located right in the heart of Taksim, close to everything—restaurants, shops, and all the main attractions are just a short walk away.
If you're looking for a comfortable, clean, and welcoming place to stay in Istanbul, I highly recommend Ferman Pera. I will definitely be...
