Man muss also mindestens zwei essen.

This spot is a must-visit if you're in the mood for Tantuni, a traditional Turkish dish. Tantuni is a delight for those who enjoy robust flavors, but be prepared, it's an exceedingly oily dish. The process of making Tantuni involves stir-frying finely chopped meat (typically beef or lamb) in copious amounts of cottonseed oil, and spicing it up with peppers, tomatoes, and a blend of Turkish spices. It's then rolled up in a lavash or durum flatbread, making for a delectable, if somewhat messy, experience. Beware, as the oil may drip onto your clothes while eating!

With its rich flavor profile, this dish offers an unforgettable gastronomic journey. And for around 100 TL, you're getting an extraordinary taste at an affordable price. The taste makes this place a must-visit for Tantuni lovers. So, bring your appetite (and maybe a bib) and enjoy a traditional Turkish...

My friends and I discovered this place thanks to Scottish travel vlogger Dale Phillip's videos and decided to check it out. We ended up liking it so much we came back like three times. That's a pretty big achievement, considering my friends didn't really like any of the other tantuni places we tried in Istanbul. It's just a few blocks off of Taksim Square, so you probably won't have to go too out of your way to get here. The staff was quite friendly (one of the guys who works there liked to joke around with us a lot, lol) and service was fast too.

By the way, if you don't know what tantuni is, it's basically just chopped beef boiled in water and sauteed in a pan, then put in a sandwich or a wrap with some parsley, onions, tomatoes and spices. It's served with lemons and pickles and you can also get an ayran (Turkish yogurt drink) to...

The average rating is not related to the restaurant itself. The place is small and located in the hideouts of istikalal road, easy to find if following the google maps navigation. I actually wanted to try the Tantuni after the many videos I watched on instagram and youtube. My expectation was that the tantuni would taste something else. When I first arrived there, the staff welcomed me and gave me a seat. The staff were very friendly and they allowed me to record a video of the chef while making my order. However, the taste did not meet my expectations. To my opinion, it misses some citrus blended while cooking. But this is a traditional turkish food item and it seems that so many people liked it so I will not complain about the taste but I would not go for a tantuni again.

Istanbul #22, Turkish #17, Tantuni #1: out of the 28 places and 50+ dishes we ate in Istanbul, this was my favorite of the trip. We ordered et yogurt 🍦 $190 as I wanted something saucier, and the guy taking our order said he preferred et, beef, to tavuk, chicken. This dish was so, SO good. With a lot of kebabs and pide/tombik I had in Istanbul, I always wanted more sauce. When I saw the yogurt options on the menu, I knew what I wanted. The meat is doused in delicious yogurt and spicy sauce. This is exactly the type of food I like to eat. Service is solid, and while the atmosphere is nothing to write home about, it's certainly comfortable enough. My top food recc of our one week in Istanbul 🥇
