Senator Hotel — Hotel in Beyoğlu

I came with my wife and stayed for 9 nights.

The Room: very clean, but was smaller than I anticipated, which was not a dealbreaker if you ask me. The housekeeping is good, however, they offered us slippers when we checked in, but after the housekeeping came for the first time, they removed them and never provided new ones until we checked out. They also sometimes forget to put a new bathroom floor mat, where they remove the old one and don’t put a replacement.

Breakfast Buffet: neutral. They have four cooked dishes that change everyday, but the rest of it is fixed everyday. It’s not very special nor it sucks (hence its neutral).

Other notes:

The hotel has 6 floors, try to get a room on the fifth floor (where I stayed at), or on the sixth floor. That is because the hotel is next to an busy street where you can hear cars honking all the time (we could hear them although we were on fifth floor, even at late night). The reception tried to offer us early check in (at 8:00 AM instead of 2:00 PM), but he said that we have to stay in a room on the first floor, I rejected and said that I will wait until 2:00 PM (which was worth it).

They do not offer toothbrushes or toothpaste. They also do not offer electrical kettle, tea, or coffee in the room. They provide free two water bottles only if the housekeeping were asked to clean the room(I.e. no housekeeping means no water). Keep that in mind if you want to bring these things with you

It is very close to the metro station and Taksim square, which was the best thing about this hotel, where everything is literally steps away.

There is one small elevator and it sometimes takes ages to arrive to us, or sometimes it’s full of people so you have to wait for it to go down and come up again, so you have to be patient.

The hotel is located in Taksim city centre. The hotel is quiet average but has one of the worst customer service you will experience in Taksim. ||I had booked this hotel through agoda. Due to system error my room was booked twice, I immediately within 2 minutes requested hotel not to charge me cancellation as this was due to network error as directed by agoda team. The manager tole me he will look at it and revert. The attitude was cold and he was more interested to tell me it was non-refundable rate and he will have to charge me. I had informed them within 2 min and requested them to see rooms to someone else.||On the day of check i. i had realised that hotel was sold out and they have sold my room. He didnt event refund my money but made extra money by selling rooms. I requested for late check out till 1 pm next day. He was busy explaining me hotel policy of check out time of 12noon.
