I have never seen a very unprofessional and bad attitude of the hotel staff, we saw 2 rooms on 08.09 and reserved two rooms(1 Double & 1 Triple) for 11.09 to 14.09, when we saw rooms, it was very good and nice and it was in 2nd floor, but when we checked in on 11.09 the rooms were on 6 floor, they were entirely different comparing to the ones we saw before, and when we asked them this is not what we booked, they said we do not have availability, even though we already paid in advance, he was very rude, this was his response ‘’ look man, im very tired, I do not have time to negotiate and argue with you, if you want the rooms, okay. If not you can go out’’ I have never seen in my life that rude receptionist. 2- we asked them to give us a double bed, they said we do not have it, that’s what its, it was just connecting the single bed to each other. 3- there was a very bad and uncomfortable smell in the bathroom and toilets 4- it was clear that rooms were under maintenance and painting, but it was not finished you can see the pcs 5- on 13.09, I got a call from reception, he said you should check out ASAP, as we do not have availability, we have another hotel, you can go there which was far away from that hotel, I said, but we already reserved, he said, I cannot do it , the hotel is already full
6- one of the famous thing about Turkey, is breakfast, they have very bad breakfast, believe me you will eat only 30 % of the items, I will give 1 over 10 star 7- in all hotels, they provide at least 1 or 2 water bottles, they did not, and when i asked them they said you need to buy it, it was 3 TL, while in the market you can buy it by 1.50 TL 8- when we checked in, the rooms were smell bad , and was not clean, we told them to come and clean it, in other hotels as soon as the person is checking out the room needs to be cleaned
I paid 40tl per night, its a lot for that hotel, I would say 10 tl per...
Read moreWe stayed here for 8 days in early to mid October with our infant son. The hotel is a convenient location in the heart of the Fatih District of Istanbul which is the historical centre for what was/is Constantinople. The room has is modern and has many nice amenities, while it is a bit small it wasn’t enough that we felt cramped inside. All of the staff were extremely friendly and always greeted us as we came and went. They even brought us a crib for our child. They have a complementary buffet style breakfast every morning with many fruits, cereals, salads, cheeses, and even an omelette station to get a freshly made omelette. There is also a coffee machine that makes lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, as well as regular coffees. Great location if you want to see many of Istanbul’s historical attractions it’s close to many Byzantine(Roman) and Ottoman sights as it’s a city with almost 2000 years of major history and being the former capital of two different empires over that span. You’re about 15-20 minute walk from the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and about 45 minute walk across the bridge to the Galata Tower. Through the hotel you can also arrange a taxi to Istanbul’s main airport for less then getting it yourself which is super convenient.
Overall it’s a great hotel and recommend it to anyone...
Read morePositive: The location is the best part about this hotel. Located within stone's throw from Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque and the Basilica Cistern. Also, fairly easy to reach Karaköy either by tram or even on foot. Everyday the room was cleaned and toiletries / shower supplies replenished. Full points for housekeeping. Our room had a nice view of the Bosphorus. The receptionist who checked us in was very courteous.
Negative: We were informed at the time of the booking that the rooms were small. But we didn't expect them to be so small. Also, we made the booking thinking that the bathrooms would have a bathtub. Ours did not have one. So we asked if we could be moved to a room with a bathtub. We were told by the reception that the hotel was full and that was not possible. Hotel being full is fully understandable, but the staff member was very curt about informing us as if uninterested in our request. It rained one day and the roof of the floor we were on started leaking. We eventually decided to change hotel and asked for the refund policy. Again we did not get a straight answer. We were told to contact booking.com who eventually had to contact the hotel. Breakfast is mediocre. The hotel is old and crumbling. The worst part was that we found a much better hotel right next door for...
