On the 25th of July 2024, during the summer holidays, my family of four, including two children aged 14 and 11, checked into Rox Capadokya, a cave-based hotel, booked through a travel agent. We were extremely disappointed to find that the family room was very claustrophobic and unsuitable for our needs, as it was a basement room with no windows or air-conditioning. The room had a double bed, one sofa bed that could barely accommodate one person, and a single couch that was eventually turned into a bed after a lengthy argument with the unhelpful check-in staff.
Our experience at Rox Capadokya was dreadful, mainly due to the poor attitude of the staff, especially the manager, Furkan. Despite our clear explanation that our children could not sleep comfortably on the sofa bed provided, he was uncooperative and insisted that housekeeping was unavailable, leaving us with no choice but to endure an uncomfortable night.
The lack of air-conditioning in our room at Rox Capadokya made our stay unbearable, especially during the summer holidays when it was extremely hot. The room was stuffy and hot, and when I pointed this out to the manager, Furkan, he responded with indifference and a blank stare. It’s unacceptable that a hotel does not have air-conditioning, making the stay extremely uncomfortable in the summer heat in today’s day.
When we decided to check out of Rox Capadokya due to the unbearable conditions and lack of proper sleeping arrangements, the manager refused to refund our money. He insisted that our travel agent should have known that the hotel does not have air-conditioning because it’s stated on their website. However, upon checking, there was no such information available. This was after a long period of arguing and without providing any satisfactory solutions initially. Our experience was terrible, and I would not recommend this...
Read moreVery cute botique hotel. Beautiful feeling and furnishings. The staff was kind and helpful. The room had an amazing view especially of the hot air balloons in the morning.
The room's electrical switches were a bit strange. You'd find a switch for a lamp down near the floor and the bathroom light switch on the other side of the wall. Our shower head was broken when we arrived and sprayed water all over the bathroom. They replaced it and you can see why it got broken as the shower head holder is loose and the head easily falls out of the holder. It was a bit tough to point so I showered in the corner.
What bothered me the most was the food waste. Breakfast comes with the room and you get this gigantic platter of various foods, fruits, breads, cheeses, nuts, etc. This was very nice. However, we ended up stuffing ourselves and still had half left over. The next evening, we asked for less food and they flat out refused. Said that it's included so you get it. The full meal. We thought they were kind of joking so we went down for breakfast and again asked for less but they gave us another gigantic platter. Another couple next to us also could not finish their food and said it was way too much. The portion doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that they absolutely refused to serve less knowing it would be wasted.
**Response to owner's kind reply: It is partly the waste but partly the stubbornness about not listening to your guests' kind requests that is the issue here. Our request was to be served less. We asked for specific things at breakfast while dropping certain dishes but that was...
Read moreI can't begin to express my gratitude to Arda and his team. It's been a marvellous stay, with fantastic food and an incredibly lovely hosts. I've never felt so at home and comfortable in a hotel. I planned this trip as a birthday present for my mother, she's turned 79 y/o, and I wanted her to live a magical experience. Arda and his team will do their best to accommodate your request. He even surprised us with a small Birthday Celebration for her at dinner. Since the minute I called to book our room, to the checkout, everything was smooth and flawless. Therefore, if you are anything like me and your ultimate desire is a stress-free travel experience this is your place. Our suite was absolutely beautiful, super clean and unique. I was surprised by the top-notch shower quality. Excellent water pressure and all marble made. I want to thank Mustafa and his colleagues for their sublime kindness assisting my Mom's needs and the incredible trip to Love Valley. If any couple wants outstanding pictures, talk to Mustafa to arrange a photo shoot for you. You won't regret it! He has an eye for it. Besides, they offer the best breakfast in town, all homemade. The lovely ladies bake traditional cookies and cakes every evening for your enjoyment every morning. Lastly, I would like to mention their Restaurant Reserved. It was an OMG food experience. Foodies go here, you will LOVE it! From the food selection to the extensive wine list. Honestly, go for the local wines. They are undoubtedly terrific in quality. Thank you so very much to all of ROX Cappadocia for a...
