What a lovely place to stay! I recommend this place for couples, friends, or solo trips when looking for a peaceful, calm, quaint, and charming experience. (I would not recommend this place for families with minor children.) If you are looking for the type of resort that has restaurants and bars by the pool or on the grounds, this is not the place for you. There are no restaurants or bars on site. We thought this would be a problem or annoying, but this aspect ended up being a blessing! ||Le Vele consists of condo and hotel units. There are proprietors of certain units who call Le Vele home or their pied a terre, so you know that the grounds are taken care of quite well. You'll never have to worry about random people from other resorts or properties walking on the grounds. It is safe and all the proprietors and guests are respectful of each other's space, noise level, etc. The residents and staff are incredibly warm, introducing themselves to guests, greeting each other happily every day, and sharing ideas with guests on restaurants, activities, etc. ||You will NEVER have to fight for or stress out about an ideal spot or chairs on the beach or at the pool. No need to claim a spot as soon as the sun rises. There is a friendly attendant at the beach who will be available from around 8 am to sunset, and will help with setting up beach chairs, small tables, and umbrellas for you. The attendant will also have complimentary cold bottles of water. Fluffy and soft beach towels are available for use at the beach and pool at all times. The infinity style pool is so quiet and relaxing, with plenty of chairs, small tables, and umbrellas. ||Each unit has a kitchenette of different sizes (depending upon the unit size), but at minimum, you'll have: sets of dishes, mugs, glasses, and utensils; microwave; coffee maker with high quality ground coffee beans; mini fridge that is big enough to hold bottles of water, small cartons of milk/juice, cans of beverages, snacks, etc.; paper towels or kitchen towel; and new cleaning sponge and dish soap. Each unit also has a balcony with furniture. ||Le Vele is conveniently located. It's on Manor Street, which is a block off of the main road (Grace Bay Road). One side of Manor Street is a dead end, so you avoid a high volume of vehicular traffic through Manor Street. The neighboring properties are also condos/villas, so the neighborhood is very quiet. The big grocery store is a 15 min. walk. There is also a convenience store (similar to 7 Eleven) and a couple of wine/liquor stores about 8-10 min. away. You can get everything you need at these stores. You can also get to the bigger, fancier resorts and restaurants within a 15-20 min. walk. Coffeehouses, bars, and restaurants are along the main road or down the block -- all within 5-15 min. walk from Le Vele. ||You cannot have food or glass packaging by the pool (for obvious reasons), but there are designated picnic/BBQ areas at each end of the pool for eating and grilling. You can request the staff for use of the BBQ grills. We saw couples enjoying glasses of wine in these areas in the evening, with the gently lighted pool as a backdrop. ||After the first night of our stay, the air conditioner in our unit stopped working, but the general manager came right away to address the issue. After discovering that he would need to call the A/C technician, he moved us into a different unit immediately. And to make up for the inconvenience, we got a bigger unit with an ocean view. We had a pool and garden view originally, which was so pretty. The general manager was so great throughout this situation. We were able to laugh about it afterwards. ||The front desk staff was ready for check-in when we arrived, gave us a quick tour, and escorted us to our unit. She ordered us cab rides to the airport, which arrived on time and charged a reasonable flat rate. She also provided us a late check out without any extra fees.||The bed was a little squeaky, but was fairly comfortable. The bed and bath linens are soft and comfortable. The shampoos/conditioners, lotions, and soaps are the Nest brand. Each guest will get a pair of slippers and a robe. Each unit also comes with a complimentary tote bag for use on the beach and/or pool and each guest will receive a complimentary stainless steel water bottle (branded with the Le Vele name and logo). The tote bag came in handy when going to the grocery/convenience store as well. ||The only complaints we have are minor. They should offer wine bottle openers in the rooms/units. They should buy some new pillows. The pillows in our original room were really flat. They need to do some mosquito control -- we got bitten and immediately upon leaving our room, and several mosquitoes came into our room every night. The balcony doors are dated/aged, so they are hard to open and close. And there is some inconsistency among the rooms -- the first room had 4 trash cans, but the second room had only 2 trash cans; the linens and pillows are different in each room; there was a small safe in one room, but no safe in another room; there was room darkening shades in one room, but no darkening shades in the other room. ||Le Vele was so peaceful and relaxing, and we really enjoyed our stay. Read moreLe Vele is on the tip of Grace Bay and Bight Bay. This means you are in the best spot for just about everything on the island. It's clean.. which is a major positive. Once you drive up you feel like your gonna walk into something special. Main lobby is separate from the living area. There are gated parking lots on either side with covered spaces... This is huge because of how hot it gets. Your car is shaded and safe. The pool area is stellar with lots of seating and two large covered areas with couches. Pool is only 5 feet deep so no diving. Everything is white and in very neat order. There is a table with towels that are replenished around the clock. There are elevators that can take you to each floor. Three rooms per floor.. all have ocean view. You are right on the beach.. can't stress that enough.... No trollys.. no walking for ever to get there. You can be on the beach and back in your room in under a minute. Rooms are again stellar. Very modern and clean. Fully kitchen with everything you need to cook any meal. Bathrooms are large and well lit. Bedroom has king bed and tv. Cribs are available for babies. The also do have a babysitter service with advanced notice. The room are a large seating area and large tv with lots of channels north American and south. The balcony has a large dining table with ample space for 6 plus guests. The views are spectacular. Both the common space and bedroom have large glass sliding doors which make the place seem huge. Waking up to the view is worth the price. The beach is the best on the island.. no rocks or seaweed in the water... And it's super clean. White sand for miles and not at all packed with people. We had the beach to ourselves most days... Same with the pool area. You are walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores... Also the souvenirs shops. There are bicycles free for use as well as pool floats and a kayak for the beach. Staff were super nice the whole time. This place is private and again worth the extra dough. We will be back. Last note... Best beach and water we've experience so far in the carribean...
Read moreWhat an incredible place to stay. The staff here are charming, friendly, helpful, and attentive. The rooms are CLEAN and beautiful. The maid service is beyond reproach, and the people who tend the beach are incredible.||The location is THE BEST. The beach is pristine and quiet, yet it is still walking distance from the grocery store and many restaurants. We drove our car maybe ten miles during our entire stay.||Some of the rooms are really single family units that are just divided by a (sturdy, locked) door and rented as two separate units. This is fine, but in our case we could clearly hear everyone in the other room even though they were not being loud. Groundskeepers were in our room in MINUTES to caulk the openings around the door. This helped immensely, and have you ever even heard of service like that? 99/100 places would have told me to buzz off.||There is construction going on towards the West side that is projected to last two years, but you can't hear the noise at the beach and it was not obtrusive during our stay. With that said, since I assume if you're reading this you're looking for QUIET, I'd at least ask about it. Construction is all over the island though, it's not really avoidable.||If you have a loud group or lots of young kids, I'd say this place may not be for you, but that's really a matter of opinion I guess. It's small, quiet, and quaint - a "boutique" experience, not a great place for loud groups or young kids (in my opinion).||We have been vacationing to tropical locations for over a decade - st. John, Martinique, Grand Cayman, North Caicos, etc. This is THE BEST carribean experience we've ever had. It is nearly tied with our honeymoon at a five star resort in Hawaii. ||I can't praise this place enough, we fell in love with the island here and we will be back next year. It is WORTH the extra money. ||Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and...
