We stayed at this hotel 4 nights. At first glance this hotel looked good when we arrived. It was clean and looked 5 star. But then the problems started. This is a 5 star hotel and we paid 5 star price for our two twin rooms, so I believe we had a right to expect 5 star standards! First thing the TVs in the rooms are not smart TVs just basic TVs. One of the TVs in one of our rooms didn't even work. Next the rooms did not have USB ports for charging our mobiles. In 2025 I expect smart TVs and USB ports in a 5 star hotel (something our 4 star hotel in Istanbul had the previous year). Yes we didn't come to Dubai to watch TV but it would have been nice to unwind after a busy day sight-seeing with some downtime and again we paid for a 5 star service! Also on the first night in one of the rooms the toilet flush didn't work, we called reception and they did send someone promptly to fix it. In the other room after we had a shower we realized the water was not draining properly and the water tipped over to the rest of the bathroom and then the room itself. Reception promptly sent someone to clean and dry the wet areas. A technician sorted this out in the morning. My son found a cockroach in his room, he was in the other room and told me later otherwise I would have contacted reception regarding this. ||On the second night we got back very very late and decided to miss breakfast and have a long lay-in the next day. I was woken up around 11.20am by a hammering noise and the sound of an electrical drill. It seems a few of the rooms on the 2nd floor were being renovated and there was building work going on. Now I know 11.20am is very late in the morning but I will let readers decide if I should expect to hear hammering and drilling in a 5 star hotel room at any point in the day. On the 3rd day we had some fun water activities around Dubai, came back late afternoon to the hotel for a few hours to rest before going out again in the evening. During those hours between 4pm to 7pm there was constant drilling and hammering sounds. ||Also house-keeping didn't come to my room for two days. They did go to our other room about 7-8 rooms down the corridor. I did ring reception for new towels which someone dropped off but he didn't collect the old towels saying house-keeping would collect them in the morning, except house-keeping never came. The 3rd day I had to call house-keeping and then go down to reception basically begging them to send someone for house-keeping and collect the pile of 5 used bathroom towels. This was also the day we had come back from our water activities and we waited 50 minutes for house-keeping to provide us with new towels so we could shower. ||Google tells me that I should expect the following from House-keeping in a 5 star hotel: Services include deep cleaning of the room and bathroom. I can tell you no one cleaned the bathroom properly, forget deep cleaning. While brushing our teeth on the first day we dropped a small bit of toothpaste on the side of the basin in the bathroom. It was still there 3 days later despite house-keeping visiting the bathroom twice.||The staff I encountered were very polite, courteous and helpful. They did their best to assist me. I like to thank the in-room Dining Service for providing me something from the breakfast menu in the afternoon upon request. I felt bad being the customer that was ringing reception once a day with at least one complaint but as you can see from my comments above I don't feel I had a choice. I believe the problem with this hotel is bad management. Management set the rota for housekeeping and probably don't give staff enough time to clean the rooms properly. It was management that decided to keep the hotel open during loud renovation works on the second floor. Anyone with basic marketing or customer service experience would know how to handle this situation, you put up signs saying that during specific times customers may hear some loud noises, the hotel apologizes for any inconvenience caused and to make up for it hotel guests can get 10% off from maybe the gift shop or the in-house restaurant. Acknowledge the problem, don't pretend its not there, own it! By offering 10% discount on one of the hotel services you keep your reputation and customers will come back.||Its management or the ownership that has decided to charge 5 star prices on a hotel that has faulty TVs, no USB sockets and facilities that are getting old (showers and toilets). The hotel staff who are customer-facing have to deal with customer complaints. I would say they did this with professionalism and patience, they deserve better from management. ||The buffet breakfast was nice and there was a good range of food.||We had a great time in Dubai but if we return it will not be...
Read moreChecked-in today here at Crown Plaza Deira as first day from the moment we arrived no one from the vallet to assist us, I had to go down from my car and go inside the hotel to call someone, no one from conceirge either, the poor guard only somehow manage to call someone on phone yet we have to wait, so he suggested that we should go checked in & leave my car outside with our things and he said he will take care, and yes he did. Upon checking-in at reception since I have been informed that my room is VIP and they will give amenities nothing has been done, and I was also promised that once I checked-in they can upgrade my room, and it didn't happen also after having conversation with mohamed from the front desk he refused to give, I work in events and I know how it works, IHG is our partner and I am very disappointed only for this personal booking I was not being assisted properly. I didnt insist the upgrade as this mohamed from front desk gave excuses that they are fully book but I know they are not if they want they could be more flexible! it's just he don't want to be flexible even after from my connections contacted them so embarrasing! anyway moving forward we went to room and there I found out that our room is same as standard, I have paid for 4 adults and getting same room as for 2 adults! doesnt make any sense, I guess Chastin maybe had fooled us! she could suggest better to get room for each of us, I mean paying with the difference of AED 80 less didnt make any difference, we could have booked AED240 per night just for me and my son and my friend and her daugther could have a separate room for our convenience, she made it look like that we got discount! but she didnt give any favor here! sorry! the room is so small! for 4 people this room we are having we can stay same room for 2 adults doesnt make any sense! just to make sales less sold room! I work in events company for 6 years now I am also an organizer & I know how it work with hotels I deal with most five stars hotels been staying many better hotels, its just so happen that our kids will be having JS prom here so we need to book rooms for our conveniece! I just wished we never booked & wasted our money making it difficult for us! I also requested in housekeeping for extra tootbrush, slippers, waters, towels, vanity kit as we are 4 people staying and what was in the room is only good for 2, if you know our booking is for 4 adults why the things is not ready in the room? why also there was no amenities? we waited more than an hours & I had to call them again to remind where are my small request!? then it only came after I complained, this is so unbelievable this is only our first day! as first night! as a first time! staying here too and we are already having very bad experience! very poor customer service! no one is even being helpful here, we also checked the swimming pool, all sun lounger has used towels on top of it where no one is using no one is even there to attend guest who comes to welcome to give towels & no life guard! what is this!? no security or assurance of if something will happen no one is there! I saw two people in the glass door I knock the door really I have to ask towels! they were just chit chatting I guess inside!. The pool is mess all used towels are all over the sun lounger which no one is using, I had to call one guy from the pool bar to assist us, I have asked if any from the sun lounger is vacant? he said they are all vacant! so I said there are used towels so why no one is removing it making it look like someone is using it so how can we know which sun lounger is available for us to use!, then he removed most towels, thats the time only we got the sun lounger around 8:35pm 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏻♀️ it's 22:27 now that I am writing this day May 23,2025 it is funny there still no amenities! as they said I am VIP in system but nothing! it's not! happening, I don't need it anway! now! this Hotel! sucks!!! lets see what else will happen later and tomorrow! looking forward for more bad experiences I guess! they are best in giving worst...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Crowne Plaza Deira, and I am still reminiscing about what an incredible experience it was. From the moment I arrived, I felt like a valued guest. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the front desk staff — Mr. Salah, Sabry, Rona, and Cleofe, along with Anthony from the Concierge — were all absolutely amazing and made me feel right at home.
The hotel lobby itself is beautifully designed, blending modern touches with a cozy ambiance. My room was a true highlight — spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed with all the comforts of home. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with soft linens and plenty of pillows, which made it easy to unwind after a long day of sightseeing. A special thanks to Theresa, Shankar, Rizwan and the entire housekeeping team for their excellent service and attention to detail.
Throughout my stay, I was impressed by the variety of amenities available. The hotel offers everything from an inviting spa, perfect for relaxation, to a state-of-the-art fitness center that I made sure to use every morning thanks to Kea and George. The outdoor pool was an oasis, providing the perfect spot to lounge and enjoy the sunshine. The on-site restaurant served up delicious meals — each one better than the last — and the staff was attentive without being overbearing, ensuring an excellent dining experience.
One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast buffet. The wide selection of fresh, flavorful options was a fantastic way to start each day. Whether you prefer a hearty breakfast or something lighter, there’s something for everyone. Fresh fruit, pastries, made-to-order omelets, and local delicacies all made for a wonderful spread. I'm especially grateful to the restaurant staff who took such great care of me. A big thank you to Mr. Ibrahim, Jerry, Winnie, Melanie, Chef Mushtaq, Chef Gehad, Mr. Hawas, Gerald, and not to forget Tara from the Club Lounge — you were all outstanding.
A special thank you to the General Manager, Mr. Emad Ramzy, and Hotel Manager, Mr. Sundeep Nellore. You guys are amazing! Your leadership and attention to detail are reflected in every part of this hotel, and it made my stay truly unforgettable.
I would also like to express my gratitude to Sham, Pawan, Preet, and Vijay from the laundry team for taking such great care of my laundry. Your service was quick, efficient, and much appreciated. Additionally, a big thank you to Rabea from the Engineering Team, who went above and beyond to fix my broken luggage. Your prompt and helpful service really saved the day!
What truly stood out during my visit was the level of personalized service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was flawless. Whether it was offering recommendations for local attractions or making special arrangements for my departure, their attention to detail and genuine care were evident in everything they did.
I also appreciated the hotel's convenient location, which allowed me to explore nearby attractions with ease. It’s close to shopping, restaurants, and cultural spots, yet the hotel itself provided a peaceful and tranquil environment to return to at the end of the day.
In short, I cannot recommend Crowne Plaza Deira enough. From the exceptional service and outstanding facilities to the beautiful accommodations, it truly offers everything you could possibly need for a luxurious and memorable stay. I look forward to returning and will definitely recommend this hotel to...
