Margham Desert, Dubai: Hot air balloon in bucket list. Checked. This is a flight of a lifetime, soaring high above in the sky watching the burnished orange sun awaken lazily. If you’re lucky like we were, you spot wildlife like camels moving slow kicking up the golden sand in the desert. Or gazelles kicking up a trail of dust as they dart across the uneven terrain. It’s a treacherous 3 am wake but so worth it. The ride was gentle, all precautions met as our pilot Sergei was so experienced. The only scare was the landing which can get bumpy and the basket tilts. We had it pretty good and seriously, everyone should do this once in their lifetimes. On a separate note, Maha’s regular pilot wasn’t around and our flight was routed to another operator - Balloon Flights LLC and the pilot was really awesome and our landing smooth. From start to finish, everything was flawless. The booking process was seamless, and the staff were professional, friendly, and welcoming. The ride itself was absolutely breathtaking—watching the sunrise over the desert from the balloon was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The pilot’s expertise and the team’s attention to safety and comfort truly made us feel at ease throughout the entire flight.

The view of the desert and the unique perspective we got from the sky was just unforgettable. It was truly a memorable adventure, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The experience was disappointing from the start. Despite strict instructions to arrive at 5:00 am with no tolerance for lateness, operations did not commence until 6:15. The entire process lacked organization and professionalism, with staff exhibiting rude behavior that detracted from the experience. Safety measures during landing were inadequate, as there was no precaution beyond a seatbelt, resulting in multiple head impacts. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the facilities was far below acceptable standards, with the toilets and overall environment being particularly unhygienic. While the ride itself was enjoyable, the overall experience leaves much to be desired, and there are likely better...
