Some fundamental flaws that have been brought up by many reviews in various websites for years but were never addressed There's no street access. You need to carry your luggage up a set of stairs to get to the entrance (maybe you can enter from the mall and walk through it). If you are traveling with a family with a lot of luggage, this is probably not for you. I asked the people at the front desk if someone could help. They just looked at me, smirked and said no. The lifts/elevators were not working during my stay. We had to drag my luggage up a few floors. The cleaning staff also had to drag towels and trash up and down. The lift issue (not functioning properly) has also been coming up in reviews for a few years There are only two staff at the reception. Both of them are not particularly helpful. When I asked for directions to a hotel nearby they were clueless and didn't bother to pretend to be helpful. With limited personnel in the hotel, there's really no oversight and accountability The wall is paper thin. I got 3 people next door yelling and screaming at each other for a few hours. We called the front desk to complain and they were settled for a few hours. But they started again around 11pm but luckily they quieted down around 1230pm. The next day was better but I could still hear people next door mumbling or the bass of the music from another room. This is the worst soundproof I've experienced in any hotel and again this issue had been brought up time and again by other reviewers but was never resolved. I can't imagine how noisy it will be when the outdoor dining in the restaurants downstairs are open in the summer time
Overall this is a budget hotel Marriot trying to dress up as a hip hotel. There are really a lot of shortcomings the company never addresses. Every time there is a bad review the managers just reply in their standard format but you could tell they never bother to improve. These issues have been around for...
Read moreIt claims to be a hotel but its basically a bed and breakfast. At 7PM I returned to the hotel expecting to get dinner in the restaurant. There is not an evening restaurant there is no chef at 7pm. This would not qualify as 1 star Hotel under the UKs AA or Visit England criteria. Marriott also mis leads the customers on their website saying the restaurant is open till 10Pm when it was closed by 7Pm
When I asked about the lack of eating facilities I was advised you can get takeaway delivered. You can also get takeaway delivered in another bed and breakfast that does not pretend to be a hotel and does not cost £100 a night. Its in a bad area it's not the sort of place you would want to wander around at night, it should be cheaper or offer better service for the money
"Our European-inspired restaurant offers an array of tapas, afternoon teas and signature cocktails."

They make false claims on their web site you book this hotel expecting a full service hotel and get a B and B. The restaurant was already closed by 7pm for food. Their false advertising is a breach of contract, you pay for a service they don't really offer based on their dishonest website. For failing to meet the most basic criteria of a hotel and false adverting they should possibly change the management.
AA "Hotel star ratings 1 star: Courteous staff provide an informal yet competent service. All rooms are ensuite or have private facilities. A designated eating area serves breakfast daily and dinner most evenings."
Marriot should watch Fawlty Towers Waldorf Salad episode to get a better understanding. Does it say Hotel above the door?
The fringe was also defective and made loud noises in the night so had to unplug it the second time it woke me up To be fair this fridge motor issue may be recent was easily resolved by...
Read moreWe started here on our way down to Florida for vacation and left very frustrated. During the reservation process we made it clear we we had 4 people and they reserved us for a King bed and a single sofa bed. We also let them know we would be arriving late (after midnight). We arrived at 2AM on Friday 24 June and we sent to a room with 1 King bed and nothing else (not even a couch). We called and explained the dilemma and the gentleman at the counter seemed annoyed, but found us another room after being on hold for awhile. We were set up on a conference room downstairs that had a King bed and single sofa in it (kinda weird, but fine). When I went down to switch out keys, he (the manager on duty) just slid the keys over to me and said nothing. I woke up the next morning to 2- $293 dollar pre authorizations on my debit card for a $196 dollar room. I walked down to the front desk and spoke to the morning manager on duty and asked why we had been charged twice for the pre-authorization, she looked at the computer shook her head and said I was charged the no show fee before our arrival and then when we arrived the guys at the front desk charged us again when they should have seen in the computer that we had already been charged. I don’t appreciate having an extra $300 held up in pending authorizations for this mistake and I have no confidence the man that change it could care less. I called on Monday morning and spoke to the manager and duty and he assisted me the transaction would fall off it and it was all up to my bank on how long it would take. I called my bank and they said it should fall off soon but it’s up to the company that initiated the transaction to ensure it had been closed out properly (which again I have no idea if it...
