Canberra Hotel — Hotel in Great Britain

We stayed over the weekend to get a much needed break.

The staff were lovely and we were greeted with a smile, we were given all the pertinent info on the door and hotel at check-in and remaining info was presented nicely in a folder in the room.

Free parking is available either by a small on pavement area next to the hotel or via a permit given by the staff for on road parking.

The room, while basic came with a cupboard, bedside tables with drawers, TV and toilet with shower.

The room was decorated nicely and smelt clean.

The only drawbacks were the temperature in the room, due to it being warm in the building and outside, it was a tad warm, not enough to disrupt sleep but something to consider, maybe bring a fan.

The second issue was that where our room was, there were some, not nice smells wafting in the windows at times, I'm not sure if they were drains or what. This wasn't overpowering and wasn't distracting but at times it was kinda like "Has someone crapped" etc.

Location for us was perfect as we spent a day at pleasure beach and this hotel is only a two minute walk from the pleasure beach, equally so to the south pier and tram stops.

Staff wise, we had only taken room only so had minimal interactions but they staff we met were friendly and outgoing.

Overall, a 4/5 for us with the smell that wafted in now and again during the night stopping this being the perfect budget weekend getaway.

Absolutely awful hotel and will not be staying here again. The room was dirty with crumbs in the bed and on the floor. The bunk beds squeeked all night so the children couldn't get to sleep. Breakfast isn't till 9 so the children were starving by this point as they are up at 6, we thought it was at 8 so we went down at that time but no one was about. We were also told we could park there all day so we went to the pleasure beach. At 12 they phoned me and told me I had to move my car as someone else wanted the space. There attitude was very rude and really upset my children as they could hear them on the phone. At this time of day all the carparks were full and no where to park so we had to go home after 2 hours there which cost over £100. They ruined my children's holiday. All that money spent for nothing.
