We took my 80 something parents away for a much needed break after the last 18 months. We chose the hotel due to their limited mobility as both are wheelchair users and the facilities offered included profiling beds for them and adjoining rooms for carers/family. The staff and service are exemplary. Everyone is cheerful, polite and genuinely want to help with no request being frowned upon.
Parking can be a challenge but usually a space is made with double parking or using pavement outside or spaces across road.
What to expect: A warm welcome with full explanation as to how everything works and parking etc. The hotel is a little dated but clean and comfortable. Bathrooms could use more rails/holds for the older guests and toilets are very low but they do have seat risers which helped. Bedside lights are in the carer/family room of room 12 but there are none in main room my parents were in which made turning lights on in a morning a little harsh for my dad with bad eyes. We had no hot water on our last morning but it was quickly fixed by Gary.
A lot of equipment is available for booking however they don’t have Zimmer frames and we forgot ours for my dad so a note to self should we visit again.
Food is buffet style for breakfast and dinner, and you really need to be there in first hour of the sitting to get the best of choice. It was of a good standard and plentiful with a veggie option available. The roast potatoes with Sunday roast were amazing. Requests for poached eggs at breakfast also happily taken. All of kitchen team and table waiting team were accommodating and helpful as was the cook. We went out in the day so cannot comment on lunch.
Evening entertainment was enjoyed and is brilliantly inclusive for all abilities who use the hotel. Bingo was played and won twice by my mum who loved it, raffles are held for charity. Fancy dress competitions can earn the winner a free holiday, we didn’t take part but was fun to see the effort made.
Seriously cannot compliment the staff enough for all...

Arrived to check in and there were 2 staff members at desk, stood for 10 minutes before any of them acknowledged we were there. The man just walked past us, didn’t even look at us. The woman did eventually ask if we were there to check in but she was quite abrupt, not very friendly. Another woman was asked to show us to our room but she didn’t speak at all. Breakfast was basic. They did have boxed cereals which was good but cooked breakfast was a buffet and it wasn’t the best, it was just ok. There was entertainment at night but they had flashing lights. Due to health reasons I can’t cope being surrounded by flashing lights, their advice ‘sit at back of room with back to the entertainment then I would only have one flashing light above me’, we went out each night instead. Tea was ok, nothing special, it was also a buffet. The rice was cold. Staff would walk past and wouldn’t acknowledge you. No hello or smile or even a wee nod of the head, absolutely nothing. The room could be doing with a few touch ups, there was a fair few scuffs & scratches to walls & bed. Also the bedroom floor could’ve been doing with a clean, my white socks very quickly got black. Not the best experience and would most...

We arrived after 3pm but was advised there was a delay in getting the keys to our rooms due to them not being finished yet . We sat in the lounge area just to the left of the reception, it wasn't the best first impression the carpet needs replaced and table all marked . We got our room keys at 4.15pm and was told evening meal was served from 5.30pm . The rooms were basic ( as expected ) , but the room with the hoist was very compact especially when trying to manoeuvre a wheelchair in the room . The mattresses on the beds are not the comfiest, and bedding is faded would look better to have new bedding . Was good to get fresh towels daily, The dining area was nice and had all of what you need , the food was good and always hot/fresh . The glasses for the juices weren't the best and bit off putting with marks on them, the tables were clean and tidy to sit at and was good to be seated at the same table for the full stay. Overall stay was nice but needs slight changes to make it look nicer ie new bedding, carpet cleaned/replaced . The staff was always friendly and nothing was ever a bother for them when asked . Extra £3 charge per waste disposal bag for pad and other clinical waste, incase other people...
