Tesco Superstore — Local services in Great Britain

One of the worst customer experiences I ever had, shopping there this afternoon. We were trying to get a colleague’s attention to proceed with the purchase, he outright ignored us and was giving us sideway glances like we were some kind of perpetrators. Then another lady proceeded to inform us that because our child touched and scanned some painkillers they are legally unable to sell it to us. She came and snatched that out of my hand and another one from the basket and she walked away. Never before have I seen such poor communication and customer service skills. When I tried giving her honest feedback she became defensive and surrounded herself with approx 4 male colleagues. What bugged me the most was the abhorrent attitude with which she and her male colleague have handled the interaction, ignoring us and speaking into their headsets like we were doing sth illegal, instead of using common sense and acting in a...

Today I used the click n collect service and collected my goods at 8am. I had been in bed ill all weekend and didn’t know if I’d have the energy to actually shop after I finished work today so I thought I’d try the click and collect service. I wasn’t sure how it worked but customer services advised me and the security guard showed me the red zone. As I parked and got out, the man looking after the click n collect asked for my surname I asked if they came in bags and he sorry but it doesn’t and he went to fetch my shopping. When he came back he was very polite and as I said it was my first time using it and it was because I’d been ill all weekend he said for me to take my time. He’s checked to see if he could find a box for me. He was super polite very cheery and it really lifted my spirits after being ill. Upsetting and embarrassing behaviour from the security guard on duty this evening. He enteted the ladies toilets shortly after I had entered at around 945pm. HE spoke in a very aggressive manner demanding that I should leave immediately as he was locking up . An unacceptable and poor reflection on the standard of customer service from this Swansea store ..again. A similar experience about a year ago when returning late from London and called into Tesco to collect essentials on my way home. I was spoken to by the security guard in a similarly extremely rude manner when asking if I could use their toilet facilities. This resulted in lodging a complaint regarding his attitude and behaviour to the store's management. There has been no improvement it seems since that time.
