The apartment is in a great location, with off street parking for a small car (Fiat 500 size), but a street parking scratch card is available. Clean, well equipped and comfortable apartment with everything needed for a short stay. You can hear noise from the basement apartment, but this is to be expected from apartments of this type in terraced properties. We were enjoying our stay, until the combi boiler failed. We had heating but no hot water, so could not shower etc. As we weren't sure if there was a heater with hot water storage etc. we went out to return later, hoping it had warmed up ! There was still no hot water, so my wife called Cara, who was out cycling and seemed pretty put out being called. She said we should have called earlier, but we explained why we hadn't and she sighed and still seemed put out by being called. Her father and brother came to try and resolve the issue as the boiler was behind a locked door, but they couldn't start the boiler. We could hear the phone conversation and were appalled to hear that this was an ongoing fault and they were aware of the problem prior to our stay. Caras partner/husband was instructing how he had reset the boiler after a lengthy process after many attempts pressing reset with the hot water tap running. The faulty boiler should have been fixed prior to guests staying. We had to cut our stay a day early, which was very disappointing. Cara offered to try and find a hotel, but that would have meant packing and unpacking and getting somewhere that accepted our dog on Easter Sunday. We agreed a refund for the final night, which was paid. Read moreI booked this place and stayed there on 11/03/22 and 12/03/22. I booked online after having viewed the pictures on the listing. On the evening of 12/03/22 I asked the host ‘when was the last time you visited this place?’ Last week was the answer and then said ‘is there a problem?’ Before I could answer, the host said that the bathroom was waiting for the plumber to upgrade it, and that will be in the next 5-6 weeks. So, obviously the host was aware that the bathroom was in an unacceptable condition. I took some pictures of the actual state of the bathroom and clearly they are nothing like the ones in the listing. I asked for my money back and was told that I haven’t complained within the first 24 hours of staying there and therefore I wasn’t entitled to any refund. The host reluctantly offered to refund the £35 cleaning fee. As if it needs cleaning!!!! IT WAS COVERED IN BLACK MOULD, NO AMOUNT OF CLEANING WILL SORT THAT. Read moreApartment was clean and tidy upon arrival. Kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils you would need for your stay. Cooker, hob and washing machine were simple to use though instructions are provided for all appliances. Ten minute walk to the bridge, walking past many local shops and pubs. The town is split by the river and both sides are well worth exploring. My wife and I went with our son and his friend. There was plenty for the kids to keep them interested and entertained. Beds were very comfortable and the shower and worked well with plenty of hot water. Overall a very nice apartment in a good location for the seafront and sightseeing.
