MERCY INN — Hotel in Great Britain

Everything. Firstly it took 20 minutes to be let in the building after ringing multiple times and ringing the doorbell and knocking. Then the door was answered by the owners son who had to ring his parents to see where we should be. We were put into a room by him until his dad could be there. Then we had a knock at the door when the owner arrived and was told we had to move rooms, in the hallway he told us he wanted extra money off of us now in cash or we wouldn't be allowed to stay, this was at 8.30pm in the pouring rain with children, we had no choice but to pay him an extra £40 cash with no receipt given. The room was in a not very nice condition, dirty stained sheets, facilities not great and a terrible damp problem with moisture absorbers in the bedroom and bathroom, the smell was the worst part but upon mentioning this we were told to not be ridiculous as this was his home and it was fine. We paid for 2 nights and left after the 1st night at 9am and we had to find another hotel to stay in. For what should have cost us just over £60 for 2 nights we ended up paying over £100 for 1 night and had to pay for another hotel for the 2nd night. Worst experience we've had and it...

Honestly disgusting is an understatement, wouldn’t let my pet sleep in there nevermind a human , showed up to the hotel on due date to be greeted by no one, not one person on site, had been informed by numerous locals whilst we were waiting outside that the place was full of smackheads, eventually got key codes to get in. the minute we walked in the smell of damp and mould hit us like a brick to the face, flies and insects everywhere, got into our room 8 beds squeezed into the one room bathroom absolutely tiny, mould coming through the ceiling , checked under the bed too and the damp/mould was visible and stunk!! beds didnt look like they had been changed for a good few weeks, carpet was absolutely bogging. When confronted the owner he claimed it “Wasn’t his place” through text on the same number he had sent us our key codes on, when we stated we wanted a refund he asked for details and we still have not...

I recommend no one stay here as you'll very disappointed as me and my family were . Ruined our holiday.Stayed here for 3 nights. Room was a little bit dirty. They checked my room when I was going without my permission or knowledge. On the 2nd day the male owner walked down the stairs with he's belt undone and he's jeans down around he's knees.
