H & A Social Club — Restaurant in England

Was hoping for a good atmosphere and live music, but sadly had a really unpleasant experience. From the moment we walked in, we were stared at and made to feel completely out of place. One man physically pushed me and told me to ‘keep moving’, and when we approached the bar to order (which is standard in most pubs), we were glared at again and aggressively told ‘there’s a queue’.

The idea of queuing at the bar makes no sense — especially when we weren’t pushing in or blocking anyone. We joined the bar like you would anywhere else, and were treated with complete hostility.

We left immediately because the atmosphere was so uncomfortable. I work in a social club myself and would never dream of letting anyone be treated that way. Even if it was just customers behaving badly, a venue still sets the tone. If new faces are treated like intruders, that’s on the environment created. Really...

Very reasonably priced drinks with two very posh pints of staropramen for under six quid. Served in pint jars. Fantastic. What wasn't so fantastic was the service when we were there (a rainy Wednesday). The staff tried their best. It was table service but with a twist. You had to write down what you wanted and this was collected and later served. It took ages to get going but was better once you had your order written and waved it in the air. That worked well. FREE entertainment and bingo is the main reason for visiting. Two sittings of bingo along with comedy act or singer. When we visited we had a comedy act from the 70s that I really enjoyed but those who are woke or pc would be...

Visited Easter weekend. I just had a game of snooker and pool, their was about a group of Eight holiday people in enjoying them selves and the same amount of regulars, never bothered with the turn, think it's changed the last time we were their a couple of years ago it's was a bit like garlo bingo, lots of bingo and running around serving meals, I accept clubs have got to adapt to survive, is this the answer not sure, we went to the brunswick which wasn't much better, or maybe...
