We had a lovely stay here over the Easter weekend in room 4. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable and the hosts on checkin/out were very sweet. There were cotton pads/buds in our bathroom which was great as I'd forgotten mine. The tea/coffee station with mini fridge was very close to the bed, but well stocked with premium teas and biscuits. We didn't really use the fridge so turned it off overnight so the hum didn't keep us awake. The communal areas and stairs/hallways are clean, bright and nicely decorated. There is a large room with sofas and a kitchenette available for all guest to use which was a nice surprise. It's well stocked with DVDs, games and storage. I particularly appreciated the complimentary cornflake/rice crispie cakes in the lobby, and all the Easter decor! We had to leave early the first morning of our stay for an event but the hosts left us a small breakfast in the bright breakfast room. The next morning we were able to enjoy a proper cooked breakfast which was really tasty - my poached eggs were perfect and the other halfs full English looked delicious. There is free parking available on the road outside the property, or behind in the private car park. It's a short walk along the promenade to the town centre with all the amusements and...
Read moreWe had a fabulous stay at the St John Guest House in Weymouth. The guest house is well located, a short walk from the train station and close to the beach and restaurants, cafes etc. Our room was lovely – very clean and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom and kettle/mugs for tea/coffee etc. Breakfast is pre-ordered the day before at a time that works for you and cooked to order which was great. The food was delicious and plentiful. The owners, Lynn & Andy, are very welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay and you can see why its award-winning! There is also a guest lounge available for use which was lovely. Weymouth itself has plenty to explore and great facilities for children. The beach is great for families and has good facilities and the summer fireworks evenings on the beach are a big hit with families from all over the area and visitors alike. St Johns Guest House is in a great location to use as a base for walking around the local area and exploring the Jurassic Coast. I’d highly recommend staying here and make the most of a staycation in the area. Will...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I took a much-needed staycation at St. John's Guesthouse and we were really pleased and impressed with our time there. Despite the increased safety measures needed due to social distancing and covid, we both felt more than comfortable and safe. Lynne and Andy were very friendly, were fantastic hosts and made the stay very special. Nothing was too much for them and they worked hard to ensure that breakfast times were staggered to allow more space for guests. We really enjoyed the breakfasts; the cooked breakfast included quality, fresh produce from local butchers and the eggs were also fresh too; the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was delicious! Being able to order our meal in advance using Google forms made breakfast quick and easy. The room was very clean, tidy and really comfortable and cosy. We loved the comfy beds and the fan and mini-fridge was also a very welcome addition during a heatwave. We loved our stay here at St. John's Guesthouse, especially the close proximity to the beach. We would definitely love to stay here again when we revisit...
