Visiting the lovely Greenhill Gardens on a sunny day we decided to have a cup of tea at the beautifully located cafe. When I ordered tea the young man serving asked how much milk I’d like. I have been disappointed before by cafes putting in too much milk before the tea has had a chance to brew so asked if I could put the milk in myself. The lad looked confused and went to consult with someone senior. A surly older chap appeared, with a mug containing a teabag in one hand and a milk jug in the other. “How much milk?” he scowled. The tea clearly hadn’t had time to brew so I repeated my request to put it in myself. “You can’t do that, covid regulations!” I told him that if I couldn’t pour my own milk I didn’t want the tea. He responded “F* off then!” I have never had such a response from someone who makes their living from customer service. I’m amazed this place is still in business. If I could I’d give...
Read moreSorry but this café was so disappointing. Staff were rude and abrupt. Really unhelpful. Asked for a crab sandwich as proudly advertised on their blackboard enticing us to stop and was rudely told "No, you can't have that. There is no crab". We ordered some sandwiches after having to do a detective style interview to work out what they were willing to make which after an age came out in cheap, low quality bread. Whilst waiting for the sandwiches we had the joy of listening to one of the staff coughing his guts up inside the "kitchen".
This could be a lovely cafe if staff were willing to make an effort and be happy to welcome people in. Have a proper quality menu etc. The setting is fantastic. Unfortunately it is run by people where the bear minimum seems to...
Read moreThis is located in the Green Hill Garden which is beautiful in itself. Sea scape cafe is awful though, lady was uninterested and poor service, like i was a burden. She pointed at drinks when i asked what drinks are available. It cost just under £30 for 3 breakfast baps with drinks which is well over priced. The baps was just cheap bacon and sausages and ive been to many local cafes in Weymouth who are using good quality locally sourced meats. My advice is dont bother and go elswhere, do not get caught out thinking its the same as Green Hill Gardens, this is surviving due to location only. It leaves a very sour taste as we do visit Weymouth often on Holiday. I definatley wont be using...
