Perfect position. Aging apartment. The Mayfair location is unbeatable — 10/10 for convenience. But the apartment itself? Definitely not 4-star, and nowhere near worth the £330 per night price. Had I known how dilapidated the apartment was, I would have happily paid more and stayed elsewhere. The pictures on the internet carefully hide the imperfections, the lack of attention to detail, and poor maintenance. • On arrival, we found pubic hair in the bath and on the floor, and most of them stayed there all week. • Mouldy grout and bathroom walls, a bath that wouldn’t hold water, but drained slowly when showering, with a cracked, warped broken panel where tiles once may have been, • a shower curtain rail that looked like a metal broomstick, • bathroom taps with broken handle, • bathroom tiles cracked, loose with grout missing - a home for some colony of insects, and the worst silicone job we’ve ever seen. • Dirty microwave, • Dirty cutlery, grimy windows, marked walls, stained carpet, cobwebs, and dust — clearly not cleaned properly. • The bed was two singles pushed together, old enough to be sagging in the middle of each mattress, but firm and comfortable • TV channels didn’t work reliably, internet was 0.31 - 1 Mbps, and no help with luggage. • One door was held open with a block of wood, and the door to the apartment needed a shove to open or shut - a clear security risk. • Window frames with rotten wood, window seals falling off and broken, couldn't shut the windows. • Furniture with charming appeal, but not well maintained, missing handles (the handles were inside the drawer) • Wardrobe doors that wouldn’t close, another wouldn't stay open. • No proper blackout blinds in the bedroom, windows in the bedroom don’t open, and you can hear other guests’ bodily functions through the floor. • Not done yet: there was an intermittent, deafening noise from either plumbing or machinery — so loud we had to raise our voices to talk. Staff were polite and promised to fix some issues while we were out, but nothing changed. Looking at past reviews, this has been a common theme since 2019. There’s a huge difference between charmingly aged and just neglected. This was the latter — tired, grubby, and noisy (not street noise). This place has great potential but management seem to be coasting on position alone. Such a disappointment. Not 4-star. If they had actually attempted to resolve any issues, I would have given 2 or 3 stars, but it's how an establishment resolves issues that is key. 10 Curzon St by Mansley apparently didn't bother trying.

Oh I forgot about the used or opened coffee sachet left for me...

Read moreThis is a cosy, two bedroom bolthole in a fantastic location, directly opposite Shepard Market. A lively - yet not too busy - street, you are surrounded by beautiful buildings, cute shops, and plenty of choices for cafes, pubs and restaurants.||Close to Green Park tube. Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street, and Piccadilly Circus are also within walking distance.||Apartment 4 is at the very top of 10 Curzon Street. There is no lift access, and the final flight of stairs is a twisty, tight climb - but well worth it once you take in the view of the street from the two front windows.||Given the prime location, we were happy with the space and layout - it fit 4 adults comfortably. The kitchen was handy to have, and a basket of goods (milk, cereal, juice etc) was a nice touch on arrival. It could have done with a chopping board though…||The water pressure of the large ‘rain showerhead’ wasn’t the best. The less-convenient, hand-held shower wand was the way to go.||Hotel reception was across the road at no. 44. This wasn’t an issue for us. Given we stayed here for two weeks, it gave a feeling of independence, with a clean, serviced apartment to return to at the end of each day.||Charlotte provided friendly, helpful service, and seemed genuinely interested whenever an issue arose (p.s - our package arrived safely in the end, Charlotte! 😊).||The only ongoing issue that couldn’t be fixed was the WiFi. Ok for standard browsing, with the occasional whirring circle while watching Netflix, however the upload speed was almost non-existent. ||We enjoyed the quirky, sloping floor of this attic-like apartment, and got used to the ‘deposit’ in the toilet (possibly a glob of construction glue that wasn’t removed in time). ||Staying here definitely added to our enjoyment of this...
