No.1 The Mansions Apartments by Mansley Earls Court London ||London’s Horror Apartment Complex||It all began when we arrived at the 24 hr reception to find that there was no one to welcome us at the desk. Finally after waiting impatiently for 30 minutes, someone did arrive from external. And introduced us to “the lift” which I’m sure was installed prior to the Industrial Revolution…. But more on that later.||At our first apartment No.1, we assembled a list of maintenance defects viz:|The exhaust fan in the bathroom was making very loud noises and was totally ineffective. A number of light globes in the bathroom vanity did not work. The bathroom door was a tight fit and difficult to close. The front door did not seal properly which meant that every noise in the passage was transmitted into the apartment. And the main bedroom was very small for a small double bed … not queen size … certainly not king size. The kitchen was supplied with the minimum of utensils. Overall the apartment furniture and the carpet were stained and well past their use by date. To complete the list, we were entertained by small grey bugs roaming the carpet corners.||We requested a change to a better apartment which the staff in the office facilitated for us. ||Thus we moved from Apartment 1 to Apartment 6. Both on the 5th floor. Again the list of defects is extensive. The wall mounted hair dryer in the bathroom did not work. The window in the bedroom had a broken sash cord and would not stay open. When we pointed this out we were given a block of wood which was most effective. The curtains in the bedroom are dirty / dusty and the lining frayed extensively. The couch does not support any human frame. I used a combination of cushions and pillows to keep the seats at a reasonable height. And then we ran out of hot water …. totally… no hot water in the kitchen, in the shower and for the hydronic heating system … and the weather was cold. It took 24 hours to have it fixed by an enterprising young man in reception. And now the “Piece de Resistance” … the lift which I feel sure dates back to the 1800’s failed. For 3 days we were told “the Company is coming to fix it” and when it was finally fixed it failed again several hours later. At this time my fitness levels are improving as I climb the stairs to the fifth floor 3 times a day. Needless to say I’m not impressed and could never recommend this apartment complex.|(Another 2 days have passed and still no lift)||On the positive side, both apartments have recently upgraded bathrooms and kitchens and the daily service is good. Apartment 6 is the superior unit.||A Special Note: the people manning Reception and Maintenance have been most pleasant, accommodating and responsive. I’d give them a...
Read moreI was appalled by the standard of cleaning and due to residing there for 4 weeks we had one bathroom flooding and caused us the most distress and then when we raised an issue we was treated badly - no acknowledgement of the repairs for the overflooding in a bathroom and the drain was not allowing water to flow and caused a pool of water in the bathroom. They then suggested this was our fault and then when I asked for the complaints policy and procedure they gave us their email for reservations at the site which was managed by themselves and refused to give me the HR email details to raise my concerns. We felt discrimination very heavily and felt unhappy. The furniture is antique but distressed looking and the sofas were hollow as in no longer with any springiness inside -completely worn. the pillows were uncomfortable and caused me stiffness to my neck. When we would miss a service from housekeeping the female staff were very reluctant and would rush an hour or 2 job in to minutes. ||The only positive, were the men housekeepers and maintenance guys who were friendly from housekeeping team. the women were very cruel and impolite. I felt discriminated against due to being an arab and from an ethnic background. I was told by some staff that they have had bad experiences with saudi etc and painted us with the same brush. The last straw was having to move because they made up incidentals that were not true and showed no proof of photos of any damages. lucky for me I took video footage of the property before and after and shared it with agents who booked us in there. ||It was the worst experience I have ever had to bare, baring in mind I have a blind child and an autistic child and they are not disabled friendly at all. They wanted my children to use stairs to access the property on the 6th floor, I felt that this was not what it looks like on their profile image and people from an ethnic background should be more cautious when booking with the Mansions. If you do not suit the image they require, tales will be said to either incur costs or make you uncomfortable so you move. Videos are available upon request.||I upload proof a property had no damage and they accused us of damaging the property. This is not a place with good integrity as they wanted us to pay for incidentals that were not there and also to make us so uncomfortable that we left. There are other plush vibrant and diverse places to stay in London for this price- take a video before and after if you still book here to...
Read moreWe've stayed here at least 7 times and the last couple of times it's been pretty disappointing. Rubbish was left outside on the balcony from the last tenants, wine bottles filled with cigarettes etc. (on both occasions) The couch slopes down, like you're downhill - and was really uncomfortable to sit in. We also had a note stating because we are staying 5 nights please enjoy complimentary wine, chocolates and room upgrade (if possible . . it wasn't), which we had to go down to ask for. When we did the guy acted like we already ate them. "You sure they aren't up there? Did you check the fridge? Did you look everywhere in the kitchen? Are you sure they aren't hidden somewhere? Our last visit we stayed 5 nights, the room only got cleaned once (we know there is no maid service on the weekends) but we didn't get any on Monday and had to ask for it on Tuesday because the bin was overflowing. Other small things like two sinks were blocked, it can get very hot with no A/C except a very loud unit in the lounge which we turned on for a few minutes and couldn't hear each other talking over the noise it was making. It can be very noisy too (not their fault) but you can't sleep with the window open. There is also only one small TV in the entire unit. We also had to wait for some other guests to let us in, as we were pressing the button on the front door for about 10 minutes and no one came. The dining seats also seemed a little past it and quite flimsy. WiFi is pretty bad too. These may seem like small things, but you would expect for the price they charge everything should be top notch. As other people have said the location is great. The staff usually are too, but we got pretty let down this time. It just needs new furniture, fittings maybe a decent A/C unit and some TVs in...
