My friend and I went to a college fair down the road and decided to go eat something. This restaurant came up on Google Maps, and since me and my friend both like Italian food, we thought, why not? I usually try not to post negative reviews about businesses because I’m aware of how it may affect them in the long run but the experience I had here was so atrocious that I’m better off warning other people to prevent them from having the same/similar experience. Now, before I begin to list the cons, I might as well mention a few good things to balance out my argument. The restaurant itself has a brilliant atmosphere. It’s very cosy and has a great interior design. The leather seats that have belts on them give the restaurant a vintage feel. Now it is time for the cons, which weigh a monumental amount in comparison to the pros. The moment we entered, we both received judgmental looks from the workers. Quite frankly, we both felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. We received the food quite quickly–which I guess was the only good thing. However, the pizza tasted quite bland, and to be honest, I’ve tasted way better Italian pizza in my time. My friend did say that his carbonara tasted OK, but that’s pretty much the most I can say about this place–it was simply OK. Not horrible, but not good either. There was a non-discrete difference between the way the staff treated the Italian-speaking customers in contrast to myself and my friend who do not. Pro tip: next time they could at least try not to make their distasteful facial expressions and blatant discrimination a tad less obvious. Unless you speak Italian or willingly want to eat bland food, I would not recommend going and avoid this place at all costs. The people who gave bad reviews are...
Read moreFood was satisfactory, however customer service was abysmal. A man of age was at the door and when asked if they had a table available he rudely pointed to different tables as if we were dogs. Throughout our meal we would repeatedly say thank you for his service after bringing us our meals and drinks yet he would not acknowledge us and looked annoyed at the fact he had to be there. He was not only this way with us but every customer who walked in. Once we finished eating a second staff member was even more unwelcoming - waitress with black hair which worked the Monday afternoon shift. We asked for the bill and she was huffing and puffing at the fact we had the audacity to ask her for the bill. Rudely came over and asked with attitude “are you finished then” after which she returned with the card machine and grabbed my partners bank card from the table and put it in herself and flipped over the machine for him to quickly input his pin. After which she slapped the card and receipt back on the table. Whilst my son was getting off his chair in order to leave she looked at him furiously as if to say hurry up and whilst I was getting up just stood there and looked at me up and down. As we walked out of the restaurant she said something under her voice. Everyone in the restaurant felt uncomfortable by the staff as I heard the table next to us also comment on the lack of customer service. I am not surprised that they have big HIRING STAFF posters, they need it! Will be telling family and friends to stay away as the mediocre food is not worth putting up with such bad customer service. We paid the service charge which was automatically added to the bill, but honestly was not deserved and regret not asking them to...
Read moreI booked lunch for two people at 1pm today. When we arrived we said we had booked a table. We wanted to sit at the table next to us (which was for 4 people) to get more privacy but the waitress refused saying it was reserved. That table stayed empty the entire two hours we were there. My friend and I ordered the same dish (ravioli with spinach and ricotta with pieces of salmon). When our plates arrived, my plate had 6 large chunks of salmon and hers had one. My friend complained to the waitress but she refused to do anything. I asked her to get a couple of pieces of salmon for my friend but the waitress said she would have to charge. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the assistant manager and there was no one else to speak to. I later found out her name was Victoria and she was dressed inappropriately for an assistant manager (short top with her stomach and belly button exposed. I took a picture if management wants to see). The assistant manager then asked me if I would have been unhappy had I been given that plate. I said it was irrelevant as I wasn’t the customer complaining and she should have apologized and done everything possible to make the customer happy. As she refused to take action,I said I will take pictures of the plates and post them on social media. She immediately picked up my friend’s plate when I grabbed my phone and sent her plate to the kitchen to get fixed. I had to eat alone whilst my friend waited for her plate. There was no apology and no adjustment to her bill. Very very bad service. Management can comment here if they want to...
