Normally I do not give bad review but I would say beware when they realized you are from abroad. I was on business trip living nearby. It happened last Wednesday evening May 10. The cashier (I saw her first time, I will not describe her ethnic group which is obvious on her look - African girl with hijab) insisted to make me pay twice. When I first pay, I tap and saw approved but she was chatting, did not check, did not even give me receipt. She then came at my table, arrogantly said that I did not pay. I told her it was approved, to check on her system to give me the receipt but she insisted saying I did not pay. I paid a second time. She did not give me the receipt until I insisted again. She was very arrogant using her English accent when she knew I was not native speaker. I then opened my online banking via my Canadian online banking to show the other cashier (African look fluffy hair girl who was nice) that there was double payment on my credit card. The the cashier who did the incident immediately came, look at my receipt and say oh sorry you paid twice (so, in fact she knew she did something wrong, and was listening what I was saying). How come? She did not see that on the system and the receipt but she only came to rectify until I complained to her colleague. On the top, she did not wear gloves, served me not very warm latté and the tuna baguette seems not fresh greasy with lots of mayo and little tuna, and the bread was chewy than the normal crispy fresh baguette. Also, it is overpriced. This made me sick this evening. After 4 days using Paul's service, I went nearby the next day who serves fresh baguette, polite and with reasonable pricing. Luckily, Marks & Spencer, Pret, Gregg, Café Nero,...
Read moreI became a victim of theft here on 17 Jan 2025. Persons who sat next to me on the right side of the sofa stole my bag, shockingly in my presence.
I felt the staff did not take the incident seriously when I reported this. For example, when I spoke to them initially in panic, I was barely given a glimpse. Nobody asked me whether I need help or even come outside the counter. The lady there was the only person who responded to me with some seriousness - that the security camera footage will be provided to the police when I asked for it.
I believe there should be better customer/ security services at Paul should such incident takes place.
I did not leave my bag unattended as it was behind my back/ literally next to my arm and partially tied to it, with all zippers closed. I am writing here to let other visitors know that they should be on guard at all times here. I believe this is the right thing, as I see a lot of customers have bags and other belongings right beside them or behind them as I did on 17 Jan. Any one of them could have been and can be a victim of...
Read moreCustomer Service is horrible I collected cake at PAUL Earls Court shop, cake side was destroyed a bit by the box, I asked the guy, any protector could stop cake move in the box as I take train to home in case it would be ruined. However, He was very loud and impatient to tell me that he has bigger box but no bigger bag, or just like this, its your choice to decide. and if you didn't open the box the cake is fine when I put in. He didn't show before he put into the box. I have to check front of staff. Then I asked to give me the cake I need to go. He grabbed the cake walking to kitchen 30 second he brought the cake and another bigger new box to me, say this what I can do, but no bag. Honestly it was horrible moment to me and affect my good mood for hosting the...
