The Urban Retreat Apartments — Hotel in London

We just spent 8 days in London at the Connaught Suite with The Urban Retreat Apartments. We could not be more pleased. I found them through Airbnb but from the moment we booked, we received personalized attention. Their customer service is outstanding. Lorraine followed up with me from the start, she was thoughtful, and while we were there, she offered fantastic recommendations and made transportation arrangements for us. She was onsite, so we could reach out with questions if we needed. Her help was invaluable, she is an amazing host. The apartment itself was beautiful, better than the pictures. It was well appointed; the kitchen is modern and well equipped, we even cooked a couple of nights and ate breakfast almost everyday. It is great to have a washing machine, especially since we were traveling with children. The rooms were fantastic, each had a full bathroom, we were very pleased with the distribution. We had a mid-week cleaning service, which was very much appreciated. The location could not be more perfect; it's a quiet street which was great to sleep and hang out after a busy day. Still, the apartment is very close to Oxford St., the tube, and also in the middle of Mayfair with access to tons of restaurants. We could not recommend Urban Retreat Apartments highly enough. We have traveled to London many times and we will surely use them again, especially since they have other apartments for 2 or 4 people as well. Just perfect. And I know everyone says this, but I never leave reviews but it was precisely because of the positive reviews that I was encouraged to book so I wanted to make sure I did so myself. We are just back from staying for a week in the urban retreat apartments, in the chesterfield suite. Firstly, Lorraine was absolutely fantastic, she was highly reactive and communicative throughout the booking process… answering any worries or queries ( in our case extra pillows!) and just as lovely in person, settling us in! The apartment is in a FABULOUS location in north Audley street, which is a side street off of Oxford street, so you are minutes walk of the all the main shops, Selfridges is your neighbour! Outside of the apartment door( literally 20 steps diagonally) is the fabulous Japanese resturant ROKA and literally minutes walk away is the equally amazing Ivy Asia…. Yes you are above a fish and chip shop ( the posh Mayfair chippy! .. google it) but once inside you are not aware of any noise or smells and you get discounted food if you eat there! And it was superb! …. The apartment itself was so cosy, it’s warm and has everything you need. The king size bed has quality bedding and is so comfortable, it has a beautiful free standing bath but conveniently a seperate walk in shower too. The small row of kitchen cabinets concerned me initially from the pictures, but no need! It’s a high spec ‘compact’ kitchen with everything needed, a dual oven/microwave, a washer/dryer, a drawer dishwasher and a hob with extractor fan! After lots of eating out we did lots of cooking in ( with Selfridges and marks and Spencer food halls on your doorstep!) and the kitchen was fabulous! This was so much nicer than being stuck in a hotel room, we feel we have really found a gem of a place to stay and would encourage anyone to stay too! You honestly won’t believe the location...

I travel to London regularly and Im so happy that I found this place to stay here! The Location is Amazing. You can't find somewhere better to stay. Lorraine the building director was gracious enough to come meet me at the property and check me in early. She even helped me with my heavy baggage. The building has a beautiful entrance with nice landscaping. I selected there smallest flat since I was traveling alone. However the flat was huge with 3 bathrooms, living room, bedroom, beautiful decor/furniture. State of the art appliances in the Kitchen. Steam shower in the massive 2 person shower with beautiful marble and soak in tub. I was so happy that there was a washer and dryer in the flat since id be traveling for over a month and had clothing that was long over due. Lorraine also helped handle the pick up and deliver of my dry cleaning, I loved my stay at this flat so much I extended to stay even longer. The flat is perfect for someone traveling with friends, family or even alone like my self. It has everything you could wish for. The AC worked perfectly. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The flat with very clean, quiet and with no lingering smells. They even offered me a discount to one of the best fish and chips restaurants in london (Michelin rated) that was about 3 doors down. I forgot my iphone in the flat and Lorraine was so kind and honest by shipping my phone back to me in the USA. I definitely recommend and will be staying there...
