Moco Museum opened its Flagship venue in August 2024 in the heart of London at Marble Arch. Adult tickets were £15.90 and Youth (7-17) are £13.90 on 3rd Jnaury 2025. I wish youth tickets were a bit more affordable to make contemporary art more accessible to younger audiences.

Nevertheless, it is a fantastic experience. From the moment we stepped in, Moco’s sleek, modern atmosphere set the stage for an exciting artistic journey. The collection is beautifully curated, blending street art, pop art, and conceptual installations seamlessly. The museum provides an intimate yet immersive space, showcasing works from legendary figures like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Yayoi Kusama, Damien Hirst, Antony James, Takashi Murakami, Marina Abramović, and Tom Wesselmann. Seeing Warhol’s bold prints, Haring’s playful yet politically charged drawings, and Banksy’s thought-provoking pieces up close was a definite highlight.

Basquiat’s raw energy, Murakami’s vibrant pop-culture fusion, and Yayoi Kusama’s mesmerizing infinity works added a dynamic contrast, making the visit feel like a deep dive into different artistic movements. Marina Abramović’s conceptual and performance-based art brought a reflective, emotional layer to the experience, while Antony James’ striking light installations offered something truly unique. Damien Hirst’s works, always provocative, added a dose of controversy and intellectual stimulation.

We visited with our daughter of 8. The museum is very family-friendly, making it a fantastic spot to introduce younger audiences to contemporary art in an engaging way. The vibrant, interactive nature of some exhibits kept everyone intrigued, and the accessibility of the artwork—both in terms of themes and layout—made for an enjoyable visit. Personally, I found it both inspiring and thought-provoking, as each artist brings a different perspective on society, culture, and emotions. This past weekend, my son and I ventured to the Moco Museum London, an intimate and vibrant art gallery tucked away in the heart of the city. Known for its contemporary and modern art, the museum offered us a unique glimpse into the works of celebrated artists who push boundaries and spark the imagination.

From the moment we stepped inside, the museum’s bold and playful ambience captured our attention. The walls were alive with pieces from renowned names like Banksy, Salvador Dalí, and Yayoi Kusama. My son was particularly intrigued by Banksy’s satirical street art, pausing in front of Girl with Balloon and Laugh Now to absorb the thought-provoking messages.

The museum’s interactive installations were a highlight of our visit. Yayoi Kusama’s immersive Infinity Room was an absolute marvel, leaving both of us awestruck by its seemingly endless expanse of lights and mirrors. It was a surreal experience, almost as if we’d stepped into another dimension. My son described it as “like being in a galaxy,” and I couldn’t agree more.

One of the most engaging moments came in the digital art section. The interactive displays encouraged us to become a part of the art itself. My son loved experimenting with the virtual graffiti wall, where he could create his own street art with a few swipes.

The museum isn’t overly large, which makes it perfect for families. We wandered through its compact yet dynamic exhibits at a comfortable pace, allowing us to fully appreciate each work. The staff were warm and welcoming, always ready to share insights or answer questions about the pieces on display.

After exploring, we stopped by the gift shop, where my son picked out a postcard featuring his favourite Banksy artwork. It was a wonderful way to remember the day and spark a conversation about the power of art to challenge and inspire.
