I booked 2 rooms for the Masters tournament back in July of 2024 online from Choice Hotels website. I received email and a website confirmation that 2 rooms were booked with 2 queen beds each for 4 adults. I received an email from the hotel general manager- Raj Patel on 1/22/25 that the reservation had been cancelled with no reason. I attempted to call the hotel the same day. No answer, then I called Choice Hotels customer service and they confirmed that the hotel cancelled my reservations, again no reason for cancellation. They attempted to call the hotel to see why for me, no answer. They offered to rebook my rooms at a rate of $300 an night more each room. I declined that generous offer. I was able to reach the Hotel the next evening and was told by the front desk that they cancelled all the Masters reservations for the week of the Masters tournament because Choice Hotel corporate made a mistake. I asked why it took 7 months to figure out they had made a mistake? She had no response but also offered to rebook my rooms at the higher rate. Again i declined. I asked to speak to the manager and she said Raj was not there, but would give him my message. I have still not received a call back from the general manager or from Choice hotels customer service. I booked my rooms much further away due to such a late date at a different company. I cannot review the rooms or location as I never stayed there, nor will I in the future. My stay at Quality Inn & Suites Aiken South was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We had a reservation from Tuesday until Friday, but on Wednesday, after 11 a.m., the staff removed all of our belongings from the room because of a mistake during a shift change. They thought we were supposed to check out that day, even though we had a confirmed booking until Friday.
Among the items they took out was my prescription medication that needed refrigeration, and they left it outside of the fridge — which caused me to lose $800 worth of controlled medication. The management showed absolutely no empathy or responsibility for their mistake.
The owner, who is extremely rude, only cares about money and has no respect for guests. We had been staying there for over a week for work, but they treated us terribly. To make things worse, one of the cleaning staff was gossiping at the front desk, saying we were trying to “find a way to stay without paying,” which is completely false and humiliating.
The breakfast is poor, the service is disrespectful, and the management is unprofessional. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else where guests are treated with basic respect and...
Read moreIt wasn't the best but not the worst. We didn't see bugs as others have stated. I would have never stayed if so. ( Completely terrified of them) . The night girl was kinda rude as in when we said where we were from she started bad mouthing the people. Would only give one room key card. The room is spacious with a lot of unused areas that could b filled in with useful furniture. A small couch or loveseat would work. I don't like spending all the time sitting on bed to watch TV and such. Cleanliness was average. Carpet looked clean but I never walk barefoot in hotels anyway. The not so great area was bathroom which really wasnt " cleaned". Probably just a glance over. It was full of hair. Shower, sink, walls, ceiling (?) toilet. It was quiet ( we arrived after9pm) until morning. Cleaning crew and maintenance laughing and talking, stairway smoking, not just cigarettes. And someone's( a worker) child playing/ running the hallway while they were " cleaning" rooms. Pool was nice. No vending machine and breakfast was less than desirable. Bed was comfy enough. Morning staff was very friendly. We had to stay for 2days because of weather and they wouldn't refund even though it was hurricane.
