Waffle House — Restaurant in Aiken County

Everything was as usual for Waffle House, always enjoy an All Star Breakfast. Except our server in particular, very lazy, and he scrapped his arm over my straw after I had to wait a long time for him to bring so now another wait for the replacement, and our drinks didn’t get brought to the table until the first plates of food were brought. He didn’t bring things to us, had to ask other server for refill and when I ask her to tell him we needed one she said not gonna tell him anything and got the refill herself. When we were done we had to ask for the tickets & he literally wrote them then laid them on the counter in front of him & said her you go. So we had to get up to even get them. You could tell by the way the other servers were with him he didn’t do the work he needed to be doing then as we were waiting to check out he went to our table looked at it but didn’t pick anything up then came back to the register as if he was looking for his tip money. I have never not tipped someone but that happened this visit. He did nothing worth receiving one. Hopefully for the other servers sake he isn’t there very long because he didn’t nothing but get...

I showed up and they only had one other customer. They said they were cleaning up before the shift change. No problem. The young man, Jacob, was very nice, but I felt rushed to eat after waiting for them to clean. The manager on duty could only talk about wanting to leave and the two other women were using more profanity than I would expect, but I was the only customer so maybe they thought I wouldn't hear it or wouldn't care. I don't really care, but it seemed a bit unprofessional. The food was hot and quick (as I would hope, being the only customer), but I did order off of the second "specials" menu and when getting the bill was asked where I saw what I ordered. To be frank, the "specials" menu is in the menu rack hidden behind the regular menus. Not bad, but not great.

Edit: I just went back and while still mostly empty, the service was great. Issie was very prompt and welcoming and Brandon was a great cook. Such an improvement tonight. Everything...

Update 12/30/2020-a lot better service a 4am. The food was really good.

Update: Had the same waitress yesterday, she is still the same, my granddaughter had a waffle and the waitress didn't bring any syrup. My daught had to get it from another waitress. She also didn't bring a fork for my granddaughter. Again, my daughter got it from a different waitress.

Update: this trip was not so good. I took 1 star away. If this would of been my only visit they would get 2 at most. We were there Saturday about 11am. The waitress was very nice. My wife's food came 1st, mine came much later. They didn't put the egg on her sandwich and we had to ask for silverware. I had a BLT and didn't get my pickles. The food did taste good but the service was not very good.
