I decided to go to longhorns tonight to treat myself to dinner. I am pretty consistent in what I order and tonight was no different. I always get the strip medium rare baked potato with sour cream and butter and a house or ceasaer salad. Typically salads come out before your meal, well mine did not. It didn’t even come out with my meal I had to remind them I had a salad. They bring out and asked if I still wanted it or if I wanted to order another side. Mind you I already had my meal at this point so I just decided to keep the salad and eat some of it versus waiting for another side. I cut into my steak and see that it is more medium than medium rare, which fine whatever I can deal with that. I go to mix the potato up and realize that the majority of it besides the very middle is not cooked all the way through and still hard and raw. Now mind you no one has come to check on me to see how everything is because if they had I could’ve told them about the potato. So I just eat my steak and wait. The waitress walks by me no less than 4 times and checks on her other 2 tables twice! She finally checks on me when I’m finished and I let her know then (very politely, I try not to be a Karen LOL) about the issues with the meal. I also don’t like to complain and I do t like to write bad reviews but this isn’t the first time I have had bad service/issues with food here. She apologized which cool not her fault she didn’t cook the food. She offers a free to go desert and I accept because I mean come on it’s a desert. She ask if I would like a bag for my to go boxes (I always save the fat trimmings for my dog) I said sure. Well that was a mistake. I sat there and waited for 5-10 mins while she chatted it up with her regulars. I got tired of waiting and just decided I would take my to his and go. She asked as I walked by her if I still wanted the bag and I told her nope I was good and walked out the door. Now like I said I hate to complain and I don’t like bad reviews but my husband and I have been coming here for a while and the last 5 or so times we have came in it’s been one thing or another. We both like longhorns but idk what it is with this location but I don’t think we will be back. We can just go to Augusta if we really want longhorns...
Read moreWe were at Longhorn for lunch a couple of months ago. It was challenging. We decided to give it another try for dinner. We arrived on a Tuesday evening after 6. The place sounded and looked busy. We waited about 10-15 minutes and we were sat at a table in\near the bar. The bartender was assigned to our tab le along with three other bad tables and the bar itself.
She came over to get our drink order and eventually returned with our drinks and then went to the three other tables to deliver their drinks and take their orders. My drink was flat. She came back to our table and we placed our order. Before she stepped away, I told her the drink was flat and she actually said, "I know." Why would someone in the food service business deliver a soda she already knows is flat. I ordered water with lemon. We waited 15 minutes and I got up, brought my flat soda to the bar and asked for my water to my waitress who was also the bartender. She continue to wait on pothers and clean up and said she'll get it. She then said to go back to the table and she would bring it. 5 minutes later a different waitress brings my water. 10 ,minutes later (now almost 30 minutes since placing the order, we got our salad delivered by the restaurant manager. I told him our experience up to that point and he just said we are all just trying to pitch in and get things done.
5 minutes after the salad our entrees arrived. THe food was decent. What I found ridiculous was when my wife asked to just use salt and pepper on the steak rather than their seasoning. THey said no. They can leave the seasoning off and you can add salt and pepper at the table. STRIKE THREE. I've worked in the back of restaurants on the line. A kitchen manager would (should) be fired if cooks did not have access to Kosher Salt and fresh Ground black pepper. If a restaurant cannot handle seasoning a steak with salt and pepper, I shouldn't be there paying these prices.
Was never offered anymore water. The original waitress/bartender came back when we were done to see if everything was OK and if we needed any refills. No just our last...
Read moreBefore typing out my review, I want to say that I am a manager and a lead server at a restaurant and have served for 10 years, so I understand food and beverage. I am not being a Karen when saying this. I live in Augusta and travel the distance to come to this particular location because the service and food is always amazing. I went out to dinner with my girlfriend this past Tuesday evening. Service was amazing at first until a table was sat behind us with a very obnoxious individual and two other guests. Our server, Kendall, greeted that table and the obnoxious man proceeded to start talking trash about a Madeline that works at that location of Longhorns. At first I felt bad for the server for having to put up with it but as soon as he stopped talking she proceeded to ALSO talk trash about Madeline as well. They said several things about her appearance and her past work etc. the server stood at the table for about 10-15 minutes talking trash about her coworker with customers while we were waiting to receive our bill. That is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to talk bad about a coworker to a customer, especially in front of multiple other tables. She had a 6 top behind her who said to each other after she walked away that they are never coming back to that location because of that interaction. I will continue to come to the Aiken location but I refuse to be served by someone who disrespects for their coworkers. I was extremely shocked with the experience and hope that measures are made to deal with this situation. I do not intend to cause drama or cause an employee to lose their job but I know if one of my employees were acting like this I would want to know. Thank you and have an amazing...
