We came to Orlando so my daughter could attend a two-day soccer clinic at the University of Central Florida in July 2023. We've stayed at many Fairfield Inn & Suites locations across the country and have had good to great stays at most. This was no exception. We arrived late on our check-in date and were greeted by a kind gentleman at the front desk who checked us in very quickly, but not without letting us know the pool and breakfast hours, and ice machine locations (important for athletes). Our room (double queen beds) was clean and at a perfect temperature of 70 degrees despite the almost 100 degree heat wave Florida was experiencing. Our complimentary breakfasts were simple but sufficient, and there was plenty of everything even though there was a packed lounge area with many guests enjoying the buffet each morning. I enjoyed the pool for a short time while my daughter was at Day 1 of the soccer clinic. It was clean, and the lounge areas were pristine. There were plenty of clean towels readily available for guest use outside. The main reason for this review, though, is this: I approached the front desk (tended by the same kind gentleman who happened to check us in on our first night) and asked what would be the latest possible time I could check out the following morning, briefly explaining that my daughter would be attending Day 2 of the soccer clinic for nearly seven hours. If I checked out at the hotel's required time of 12 pm (which is an unusually late check-out time compared to most hotels, by the way (more points for Fairfield Inn & Suites!), I still would have had several hours with really nowhere to go until the clinic was over and we could head to the airport to catch our flight home. The gentleman at the desk did not hesitate to extend our stay for a couple of more hours to accommodate our schedule. I know it won't seem like a big deal to most people, but it meant a lot to me. The last thing I wanted to do was be out in the oppressive heat all day, waiting for my daughter to finish the clinic, or even driving around looking for things to do, spending more money unnecessarily. I also know that it probably isn't the most convenient thing in the world for a hotel to extend a guest's stay, as they have to change the cleaning schedule and probably other things as well. I know it's not something to expect regularly or maybe even ever again. (I don't usually need a later check-out, as this was a different travel scenario than we are used to.) But the gentleman at the desk made it happen for us, and I am so grateful for that. Not feeling rushed or "kicked out" with nowhere to go means a lot to this mom who is already anxious enough when it comes to traveling. If my daughter ends up attending UCF, I will definitely be booking Fairfield Inn & Suites on Lake Lynda Drive for our stays. And no, I will not expect special check-out favors, but I will certainly remember the generosity I was given during...

Read moreWe arrived last Thursday March 29th, 2018 in the late afternoon. The 2 Young ladies who were at the front desk were more tan gracious and helpful. We reserved for 3 adults a minisuite with sofa bed for our son. The sofa was there but none of the bedding. We requested pillows, blanket and bed sheets and the Young lady downstairs kindly brought them to our room and our son fixed the bed. The following day (Friday) we left early in the morning and came back around 3 PM. The room had not been cleaned. We called front desk and were promptly told that everyone was gone for the day and therefore no room cleaning. We asked what do we do with the garbage? the response: "Put it outside." Can we please have clean towels and new garbage plastic bags? "Yes but only if you come down to pick them up yourself". Can't you please send them up with somebody? "No". We then told her we would wait for the new personnel shift for better service. "I am the new personnel shift, I will be here until 11 PM". My son went down, picked up towels, garbage bags, we picked the garbage put it outside, changed towels and we fixed our beds. It sounds like a "do-it-yourself" hotel. We had never been to one before. At least the front desk people (UCF students) should be nice and explain why this hotel operates in such fashion. But she was very displeasing in her demeanor and they study...
