I stayed here for 2 weeks while between houses. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience.
First, to provide some general information about the hotel, it is a suite hotel. The kitchen consists of a microwave, sink, and full size fridge/freezer. There are induction burners available to borrow from the front desk. Breakfast is offered daily and the offerings (same every day) were a make your own breakfast sandwich station, waffles, Yoplait, oatmeal, bananas/oranges, and bread/muffins. The hotel is centrally located to UCF and has a number of restaurants in walking distance including Chick-Fil-A, Chipotle, Panera Bread, Buffalo Wild Wings, and many others.
My poor experience was primarily due to the fact that my shower only had consistent hot water on 7 of the 14 days I was there. It was later explained to me that the hotel is aware of what they called a "randomly occurring issue" with the hot water. Additionally, I was only able to sleep through the night due to noise disturbances on 6 of the 14 nights. When I raised these issues with the hotel manager, her solution was for me to move hotels. After she had her team investigated it (which I had already done myself once I realized the issues weren't going to be resolved), there was no availability nearby so I stayed the second week of the 2 week stay despite the issues. I felt that the response overall did not reflect the level of severity these 2 issues present. I think the very core things you should expect at a hotel are a hot shower and a comfortable night's sleep particularly when paying $150/night.
As for the noise disturbances, if you are a light sleeper (And I don't consider myself that light of a sleeper), I would think twice about staying at this hotel. The walls are seemingly made of tissue paper as every noise is audible whether that is footsteps above, people speaking in the halls, or the people in the room next to you. While I understand that some of these issues are outside of the hotel's control such as people staying active in the halls until 4am, I found it disappointing that one of the main sources of noise was a significant banging/clanging sound that would happen whenever someone in the rooms above would use the water (which should be within the hotel's control).
I am in a wheelchair and I found the accessibility of the room with the roll-in shower to be mostly solid with the exception of the outlets in the kitchen area not being accessible and all of the glasses, plates etc being on the top shelf. All of the bottles in the shower for soap and shampoo were also not reachable. The electric blinds did not work initially, but after maintenance worked on it over the course of several days it was at least workable. One thing that was really challenging regarding accessibility was the lobby. The lobby itself is reasonably spacious, but the main walkway through that lobby is very narrow (pillars on one side and a large dining table on the other) so when the lobby was crowded (and it was quite often as this is a busy hotel) it was very difficult to get through in a wheelchair when people were walking in and I was walking out (or vice versa). I don't think 2 able bodied people with luggage would be able to fit through either to be honest. This also created a situation where many days the breakfast area (part of that same lobby) was too crowded to navigate in a wheelchair.
Overall, I would not consider staying here again due to the lack of a hot shower and...
Read moreOur recent stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Orlando left me with mixed feelings. While the overall experience was pleasant – with a quiet and clean hotel environment – there were some notable drawbacks that detracted from the otherwise enjoyable stay.
Upon arrival, I was impressed by the serene atmosphere and well-maintained facilities. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed that the bathtub exhibited dark mold spots, and the toilets bore stubborn stains around the rings. These hygiene issues were disappointing and detracted from the overall cleanliness of the room.
Additionally, while the hotel aims to provide a homely experience, there is room for improvement in certain areas. For instance, the breakfast menu remained unchanged throughout my stay, lacking variety and freshness. It would be beneficial for the hotel to consider rotating the menu daily and offering a wider selection of items to cater to the diverse preferences of guests.
Furthermore, as a frequent guest of this establishment, I couldn't help but notice the need for updates and repairs throughout the hotel. While the ambiance was welcoming, the presence of visible repairs and maintenance issues detracted from the luxury experience that one expects from a Hilton hotel.
Overall, while my stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Orlando was satisfactory, there are areas where improvements could be made to enhance the guest experience. Addressing cleanliness issues, updating amenities, and providing a more varied breakfast selection would undoubtedly elevate the hotel's appeal and ensure that guests feel both at home and indulged...
