I went with my friend after learning about the 10 dollar burger promotion from Orlando weekly. But when we arrived, we both decided to do the regular menu. I went with the double burger with cheese, which surprisingly, they charged me twice for the cheese. For my toppings, I chose the caramelized onions, mushrooms, and jalapenos. I chose chipotle and mayonnaise for my sauces. I also ordered a small chocolate shake and two cookies for sweets. Overall came to 20 dollars after tipping.
After ordering from the counter and paying, I grabbed some napkins and condiments from the back. Within a couple minutes, my name was called and picked up my order from the counter. I was surprised that it came with fries, which I didn't order. When I mentioned this, they told me to enjoy it for free. The burger was pretty thick and juicy, with the sauces complimenting quite well. It was a bit messy with the topping, but it was really good and I was able to taste a bit of spiciness from the jalapeno. Some of the toppings fell apart at the end, but I was still able to enjoy it separately. The chocolate milkshake was light and had the right amount of flavor without being too powerful. It actually did not make me full and I was able to finish the burger and shake at the restaurant. I took the cookies home and had them the next day. While it was pretty crunchy, it had perfect chocolate chip and dough flavoring. Well with the dollar each.
The service was friendly and helpful. I did wish they delivered the meals to the table, but understood they might have been short on staff so you had to pick up your food. The owner did visit us to ask how our food was. The atmosphere was really casual and I found the background music to be quite boring. There was enough seating for my friend and I to find a table.
Build My Burgers is a great addition to the UCF area. While it was a bit hard to find, it was worth the search with the great food. It is located in a strip mall in University and I recall there is no light for the turn, which can be difficult to turn left to there. Parking was a bit difficult as well, so we parked in the back side closer to the hotel. Still, I will definitely visit again and try their chicken...
Read moreDismal disappointment. We looked at the photos and were excited to try a new place. It looked fun and whimsical. The pictures showed a clean establishment.
We came in at 7:30 on a Wednesday - there was 1 table of people, who'd already eaten. As we approached the counter, with every step my feet stuck to the floor. Not a good start, but I was willing to overlook it, trying to be positive. We ordered 2 burger combos and a shake and the total was $45. Whaaaa? I kept the positive self talk going. "It's so gonna be worth it," I told myself. As I stood at the beverage counter, trying to get one of the employee's attention to inquire if they had plans to refill the empty tea reservoirs, I watched the slow moving young man at the grill open the refrigerated cold drawer below the range, grab handfuls of dripping raw chicken wings and transfer them to the fry basket, dripping copious amounts of chicken juice all over as he went. Then with the same gloved hand that he had just repeatedly plunged into raw chicken, he began to cook our burgers on the grill. I went and sat down, trying to decide if I was going to be "that customer" and ask for my money back, or persevere. I couldn't find a clean table, so I finally asked for a rag to wipe down the table. I was too tired to exert the energy after having worked a 12 hour day, so I said nothing. The burger I received was - and I am not exaggerating - so overcooked that my husband could hear me crunching it across the table!!! The fried egg on my burger was fried hard - no yolk remained. Our fries were so overdone they bordered on burned. The "chocolate" shake was the most nondescript, bland unsweet shake I've ever even experienced - I didn't even know that was possible! The entire place was filthy. We will...

TL;DR - eat here immediately
We were apprehensive of venturing out to some place new after helping our nephews move into their dorms and with 6 adults starving, a miss would be dreadful. When we got in, there was no line and after seeing the images pop-up on a nearby tv - I decided to double down on my hunger.
Alid took my order and was extremely helpful, courteous, kind, and did not make me feel rushed. The price was more than reasonable especially with me going for a three-patty beast on a brioche topped with guacamole (go ahead and judge). Our group finished ordering and sat down; after about an 5-7 minute wait - our first three orders came out including mine.
Words do not justice as to how delicious the burger tasted as I tried my best to get a full bite in. The fries served were crinkled with light seasoning and not overwhelming, a fitting side to compliment the burger. The buns were soft but not delicate to fall apart.
It’s clear that the Build My Burger team put much thought and attention into precise selection of the food menu items. The sauce varieties were excellent options to switch up on my taste buds when it came to my fry dunking.
After cleaving away the burger and polishing off the fries, I had to meet the team orchestrating this beautiful food symphony of taste buds. I thanked them generously for this meal and informed them that I’d leave a review - hence my presence here.
If you or your family are looking for a sensational burger without the frills of a gimmick or a cascade of menu options - please stop here and indulge. I promise you will or your friends and family will...
