We made group reservations six months ago, believing we were getting the best rate as a group discount. However, a couple of our members made their reservations outside of our group because they got them cheaper using their Carlson membership.
Upon entering the hotel, we were overwhelmed with the smell of perfume near the front desk. I noticed this several times during our weekend, always near the front desk and elevator area. When we arrived at our room the first thing we noticed was the dust literally falling from the ceiling fan. Upon further inspection, the dust was thick on the tops of the picture frames as well. Additionally, there were two, long, dark hairs stuck to inside of the shower curtain. Other than that, the room appeared clean and had fresh, bright white linens on the bed. Oddly though, the bed did not have a blanket; just a sheet and a comforter. The king size bed was very comfortable, but the sofa bed was horrible. Iâm only 5â5â and it was too short for me, plus very lumpy. We found many of the suites our group had to be too warm, even with the thermostat turned down to 50, so most of us slept with our windows open.
This weekend was a yearly event for our group and one thing we always do is play board games all day on Saturday. When we made the group reservations we were told that we would be able to use the breakfast room to play games in. While at breakfast Saturday morning, I overheard an employee saying that the breakfast room was reserved by a different group starting at noon. I went to the front desk to discuss the problem. The front desk clerk was not empowered to help me. She had to call an off-site manager and I spoke to her on the phone. The manager was very apologetic about the situation and tried her best to come up with a solution for us. She gave us an unrented family suite to use and offered to have an 8 foot table and chairs brought up to the room. We agreed to that and waited nearly an hour for them to bring up a table. Finally we went and got the table ourselves. We had moved as much furniture out of the way as we could, but once we set up the table and chairs in there, it was very crowded. You could barely walk by the table, and we werenât able to use the space to play games as we had hoped. We ended up having 26 people and we really needed multiple tables in a much larger space. When we made the reservations and were promised that we could use the breakfast room, we were not told that they rent it out or that it may not be available. That would have been a deal breaker.
We still enjoyed our stay, but the hotel clearly has some...
Read moreIt is so nice to stay in a hotel that is so well kept up. From when you first enter the so clean and welcoming lobby to each and every room of the hotel, it shows that the management and each staff member are proud of this hotel. We had not stayed there for quite some time because of covid and many family members having cancer, so we were extremely happy to see how nice the hotel was. We were so impressed by how well the hotel had been kept up and probably was even nicer now than before. All the staff was so very friendly and I could really tell they are proud of the hotel. I was so surprised to hear that Kim was still at the hotel. I remember her being so very friendly and always so helpful. This hotel is so very lucky to be able to keep a great employee like her. I really think when a hotel or any business can keep a good employee like her, all the other employees will take pride in their jobs and will have respect for them and will work hard. This hotel is so lucky to still have Kim, I hope she stays for many more years. We hope to return soon to this beautiful hotel. It was wonderful to stay in such a clean and pleasant place. Thank you for a great and pleasant time...
Read moreThis hotel is so dated. Very disappointed in our stay. There was never an attendant at the front desk. We had to ring a bell anytime we needed something. The whole pool area had a ton of issues. One of the exterior doors had been completely removed and was covered with particle board. There was a whole cut out of the bottom of it with a dehumidifier running. The whole in the board was cut large enough for critters to just walk right in. It was clear that ventilation was a huge issue in the whole pool area. The knob on the hot tub switch was broken off making it incredibly difficult to turn on. There were no towels in the pool area at 7pm. When we asked at the front desk (after having to ring the bell) they brought out around 8 towels that were gone within 15 minutes as it was a busy time. Our room was located right above the mechanical room and on and off throughout the whole evening there would be a loud pulsating noise that would come on for about 10 minutes every 45 minutes or so. We finally had to call the front desk about that. It was better for a while but the sound started back up after a few hours. Our room was dirty, missing trim,...
