I want to start by saying that I don't blame any single employee for my experience, just that the entirety of the experience was poor. I ordered an expensive new bedroom set (bed, dresser, chest, two night stands) almost two years ago. I was warned it would take 6-8 months to come in, which I was okay with. I initially received the bed, chest, and two nightstands after about 6 months. The bed headboard was cracked and one of the nightstands was damaged upon arrival. Long story short, the next bed arrived with a cracked headboard as well. After 20 months, I finally received the new night stand, bed, and dresser. Because it took so long, I had moved and had to rent a Uhaul and drive 3 hours to pick up those pieces. Prior to driving there, I asked the employees to inspect the furniture to ensure there was no damage. They told me they opened it all and there was no damage. I picked up the packaged furniture and brought it home. Well, once unpackaged, I saw the chest was also damaged. I am now trying to get it fixed through warranty so I don't have to take another 6 hour round trip, plus a Uhaul fee, to possibly get more damaged furniture. It is frustrating to say the least that it took 20 months to receive multiple pieces of damaged furniture when the set costs almost $5k. During the process, I was told by employees at this Slumberland that I would receive store credit or gift cards due to all of the issues that occurred. When I went to pick up the last set of furniture, I asked the employee how much store credit I got for all the problems. The employee said there were no notes and they had no idea what I was talking about. I do not blame Slumberland for the damage, because they are not the ones who packaged the furniture. I DO blame them for telling me they inspected the furniture and said it was undamaged, when it wasn't. I also blame them for making empty promises about how they were going to rectify the many failures of this transaction. I don't think any company would expect to retain a customer who has this kind of experience.
I would also warn people to ensure they get the financing during the sale. I bought this furniture during a 5 year financing sale. As soon as I got my first bill, it said it was 3 year financing. I am not sure how you can do this, but I will start that...
Read moreVery disappointed in our experience at Slumberland in Albertville. In the past, my husband and I have had good luck, but not this time around. We ordered a couch, loveseat, recliner, and got a twin headboard thrown in with the deal. We were told the furniture would be delivered in 6-8 weeks. At the 6 week mark, I called and was told it would now be 8-10 weeks, but if it went past 10 weeks, they would consider giving us a discount. At 10 weeks my husband called the corporate office and we were then told it would be closer to 14 weeks, but it could be longer. No apologies were given as well as no talk of a discount. My husband called the Albertville location to cancel. The manager didn’t try to talk us out of it or offer an explanation. He just readily agreed to issue a refund. My husband asked if we could still pick-up the headboard since it was a solo in-stock item at the store. He was told the only way we could have the headboard was if we paid more for it since we were canceling our order. I find this absolutely ridiculous, considering the amount of time we had waited for the furniture that had never arrived, especially since we were told we would get a discount. Our whole experience at Slumberland in Albertville showed a severe lack of customer service. This store over promised and...
Read moreWe got a great deal on all of our items by visiting the store during a major sale. Our sales associate, Tim, was AMAZING! My husband and I actually ended up visiting the store separately before going together to make final decisions, and Tim happened to help both of us (and actually laughed when he saw us together because of the comments we made separately about what we were looking for on price, style, size, etc and how they were SO opposite!). We are on very far ends of all Spectrums, and he was able to guide us in a direction that provided style, furniture size and prices that satisfied what we both wanted. He even stayed about 30-45 minutes after the store closed to help us make final decisions, and finalize delivery and financing details. We never felt rushed, and he was so helpful and patient, giving us ALL our options and helping us meet in the middle with decisions. He said many times “I want you BOTH to feel good about what you’re getting and how much you’re spending.” We’ll definitely use them again...
