Today, I was racially profiled at this location and wrongly accused of stealing a $4.29 burrito. From the moment I entered, the Hispanic cashier kept a watchful eye on me as I browsed the store, selecting a few items. I then went to the kitchen area to get a specialty burrito, which was wrapped up and priced. After that, I proceeded to the self-checkout to pay for my purchase and then began walking back to my car. As I walked to my vehicle, I noticed in my peripheral vision that I was being followed. The cashier approached me and asked, “Did you pay for that?” I confirmed that I had, and when he asked for a receipt, I explained that I didn’t have one. He then insisted, “I don’t think you paid for it.” I told him to review the security footage if he thought I didn’t pay. He told me he wasn’t doing that. I stated that I used the self-checkout. He responded by saying, “Well, I didn’t see you use it.” Still implying that I had stole the burrito. When it was all said and done, he had been proven wrong that the burrito had actually been paid for. Love the maverick chain. It hate this location. Girl named Jessica who is a manager not wearing her mask. Staff not wearing masks. I hadn’t said anything at this point but walked up to the register got completely ignored by her. Brought that to her attention also the mask thing. Took my mask off since it wasn’t being enforced.
