First and foremost, this week, they significantly raised the price from $69 to a staggering $193, inclusive of taxes. Upon check-in, I received the key cards for the room, but to my dismay, they didn't work. I had to make a trip back to my room, which, incidentally, was quite dusty. What's more, the deadbolt for the door was broken, leaving me feeling far from secure. It was clear that the door had been previously kicked in and poorly repaired. Adding to the list of inconveniences, if I wanted to keep any food cold, I had to unplug the microwave. However, there were only five plugs, all connected to a single outlet. Consequently, I found myself repeatedly unplugging devices, moving the TV stand, reheating my food, reconnecting all the appliances, and then moving the TV stand back into place. This inconvenience was particularly frustrating, and the fact that there was just one plug to service all my devices and appliances was truly exasperating. Moreover, the clocks in the room were not even plugged in, and truth be told, I didn't dare to take a shower for fear of getting dirty. To make matters even more disconcerting, around midnight, I counted approximately 150 people camping in the parking lot right in front of my door. This situation was particularly unsettling, especially considering the proximity to the Mexican border. Most of them spoke no English, but thankfully, I can communicate in Spanish. Nevertheless, their conversations made it nearly impossible for me to get any sleep. With a growing concern for the safety of my belongings, I rushed to Dennis, a restaurant located a mere 50 feet from my room. Upon my return, the key card, disappointingly, did not work yet again, necessitating a lengthy walk to the front desk to have it reactivated. In addition to these frustrating issues, when I requested a late checkout due to an upcoming meeting, my request was met with an unyielding "no." To put this experience into perspective, I have lived for years in places like Peru and Ecuador, and I have even navigated through riots. Nevertheless, I can genuinely say that I have never felt as unsafe as I did last night. The need to move the entire TV stand every time I needed to change plugs only added to the frustration. It was also clear that the door had been previously kicked in and poorly repaired, and the keypad outside was still broken. On a positive note, I had the chance to interact with the cleaning crew who seemed nice and hardworking. It's evident that the issues I encountered are primarily a management problem. I could see paying $63 for that room and not minding, but charging $197 is nothing short of highway robbery. This experience unquestionably deserves a negative rating on multiple fronts.

Disappointing stay – pool closed without notice, poor breakfast The room was pleasantly spacious and clean – the only real positive of our stay. The outdoor pool was visibly filled and running, but still locked and marked as "out of order". This was the main reason we chose the hotel, as we were hoping to relax and swim after a long drive. There was no prior notice – neither on Expedia nor from the hotel itself. To make matters worse, I was asked to sign a form upon check-in confirming I accept that the pool is closed. That felt almost cynical, especially since there was no apology, no goodwill gesture, and no price reduction offered. Breakfast was also disappointing: toast, a waffle machine, coffee, and juice – that’s it. No eggs, no fruit, no variety. Even for a basic motel, that’s not enough. What makes it even more unfortunate: the hotel is family-run, which usually means a more personal, guest-oriented experience. Sadly, that personal touch was entirely missing here. There was no transparency, no proactive service, and no effort to make guests feel valued. Conclusion: The room was okay – everything else was a letdown and frustrating. From a family-run hotel, we expected honesty, warmth, and basic respect for guests' expectations. Sadly, none of that was delivered. And please – spare us the standard response like "we appreciate your feedback to improve". If you really cared, you could have simply stated that the pool has been out of service for months and informed us (or Expedia) beforehand. That would have been honest and respectful.

The first room had black mold on the bathroom ceiling. The wonderful front desk lady kindly moved my family and myself to a new room. The new room had all the things the other one didn't and no black mold. The second room was nicer than the other, but even with the fancy new mirror over the sink, sink is separated from the shower and toilet, and the two lamps that were in the bed area on, the bathroom was the brightest room in the hotel room. Vampire lighting! The floor had smeared ketchup or blood on a part of the floor. The only reason we found out about that is because I stepped on something, so I had to use my phones flashlight to see what it was. My wife found a backing to an earing, and it wasn't hers or our daughters. The staff was very friendly and king! We normally don't stay at Motels, but we thought it looked really good on the outside and it's across the street from two Hilton hotels. The floors are peel and stick vinyl tiles straight to the concrete floor. No carpet! There is no carpet anywhere in the room. The beds that were in the room we were able to slide across the floor. My 7 year old daughter leaned on one, and it slid across the floor. Continental breakfast consists of a slow cooker of gravy, a plate of biscuits, two different kinds of cereal, hardboiled eggs, milk from one tiny pitcher, two waffle makers, juice dispenser and I think a coffee. Better choices at the corner store these days. I don't recommend this place unless you have to.

Horrible service. As a business owner I know the way they treated me and my family is not how you treat customers. Im in town for medical reasons and our room was booked and paid for by my insurance company. The room was registered in my husband name as he was listed as a my driver for my appointments bc of the medicines I would be taking. He was allowed to check in with his ID and my bank card. On the 3rd day we were told that this wasnt suppose to be done but it was a fault of the hotels for not informing him before hand he couldnt check in with my debit card. The way the MANAGER decided to fix this was simply kick us out and not allow us to stay for the last paid day bc my husband didnt have a debit card in his name. I actually informed my husband that he could go to a bank and get a debit card issued immediately. We went to the bank and did such when we returned I informed Mark that they were being real ugly towards us that it was their mistake and his words to me were "well we are going to refuse service" I didnt yell at him or anything simply stated that I felt they were being ugly towards us bc there was a way they could have fixed the issue but they left it on us to come up with a way or be kicked out of a room that was paid for. I do not recommend anyone stay at this hotel. The customer service is horrible. As a business owner if you make a mistake you fix it you dnt leave a customer who is recovering from surgery to run around and fix your error and you for sure dnt immediately suggest kicking them out for your mistake and then for them informing you how they feel about the service. The ugliness continued. I wish I could say that they at least tried to fix their fault but the only answer was kicking us out for their mistake. Had we known my husband needed a debit card he could have simply came to the bank before ever checking in as we are here now getting him a debit card. My stuff was removed from my room A PAID ROOM without my permission. A maid removed it amd stole 13 half dollars from me. I called and asked for it and the guy never checked to see what she did with it he immediately stated they wouldnt steal anything. Thank God for my insurance company they immediately booked me another room at Super 8 which is so much nicer, cleaner, customer service is great. They even accepted cash for the deposit, an inside pool which is open, gym, hot tub and they have better breakfast. Highly recommend them.

Updated: after refusing to check and being confident that no one would steal my money, after the above review was left I was called about 5mins after and they stated they had FOUND my half dollars and that I could return to get them. 13 half dollars very little bit of money to lie about and steal. I won these half dollars from the casino and gave them to my KIDS which is why I wanted them back. My kids were so happy to have them returned. Still very horrible customer service, rude staff, and someone is a thief. They ensured me no one would have em...

Our stay was horrible!!! We chose this hotel because the ratings (mostly from 2023 and older) were fine and photos good also. This was just a one night stop on a bigger vacation to Utah, so I wasn’t looking for anything more than clean beds and hot shower, breakfast was a plus. We got in after a 9 hour drive and were assigned a room. The door to our room was dented as if damaged by a crowbar and the facilities were older and showed dinginess. The beds and linens were clean, so I decided not to be picky. The worst part was the night. A domestic disturbance in a nearby room woke us at 2am. The night manager continually called our room from the office blaming us for the noise complaints even though we were very clearly communicating it was not coming from our room and that we too were concerned. I got very concerned when a woman or child’s voice could be heard through the wall screaming “Help” and “Let me out”. I called the front desk asking for help and was told to leave the property and get out before we make everyone ask for refunds. At 3:20am we ended up calling 911 for assistance for both the screaming next door and the harassment from the night manager calling our room telling us that we needed to leave. My children were terrified! The operator kept me on the phone while a car was dispatched out and we gave permission for the officer to come to our room as part of the investigation. The officer never came, but the screaming stopped. We never got back to sleep and packed up as soon as the sun came up. The silver lining was that the day manager arrived at 6:30am before the police had finished their investigation and had left. She therefore understood the horrible situation when we checked out at sunrise and agreed that we should receive a refund. She took our information and we went on with our trip believing it would be handled. I reached out to the property when we got home from our trip and did not get a response back. I then followed up with Expedia who opened a complaint inquiry. A week later I got a letter saying the property would not agree to any amount refunded. Now I have opened a complaint with the BBB. It’s no longer about the money, it’s about lowering their star rating so people don’t get duped like I did! I will continue to write about this experience on every single rating board and travel site I can find. Oh, and if you are reading for a review of the property itself, the pool was green and disgusting. The ice maker was broken. The rooms old and in need of a deep clean and new linens. The complimentary breakfast is bagels, cream cheese and apples, juice if you like it watered down. The waffle maker was the highlight for my kids, but dry because there was no butter or syrup. If you need a bigger more filling breakfast, don’t worry, there is a Denny’s that backs up to the property, just walk past the smelly dumpsters that face the front of the La...
