I consulted John for my green card application. After the initial consultation, John determined that the best route for my petition is “Outstanding Professor/Researcher”. He explained that this is a very difficult category and I would have to provide all the documents he would be requesting to submit with my application. He ensured that all the bases were covered before filling the I-140 petition. Collecting documents to his satisfaction was my task. It took longer than I expected. John took the time to perfect the petition by developing a case meticulously by collecting lots of evidence documents. I understand that when someone going through this process with John, it is nerve-racking and one can become restless with John. But John will not cut corners when it comes to green card applications.
As far as I understand, every immigration law firm employs support staff. We as clients get to communicate with them frequently during the initial steps of the case file preparation. Yes, this is the case with John’s office too but later on he provided me with his mobile number so that I can to talk to him directly as needed. He even flew from Dallas to Albuquerque to meet me during the application preparation process.
We need to understand that lawyer cannot answer all the calls by clients during the initial preparation of the case file. Initially, I worked with John’s assistants to collect documents as well as to complete forms and this process was cumbersome. The delays occurred mainly due to the delay in collecting support letters and other support evidence, which were part of my responsibilities.
When all these documents were ready, John fine-tuned the petition with me over the phone. He spent hours discussing my case over the phone with me to ensure that he is 100% satisfied with it. Due to all the excellent work John did before filling really paid off. My I-140 was approved within 4 months. There were no RFEs from USCIS. I-485, I-765 and I-131 were filed within a month. The biometric appointment was scheduled within a month of the filing. The I-765 and I-131 were approved within 3 months and the I-485 Interview was scheduled within 4 months of the filling.
I personally believe John’s tedious petition preparation process with attention to details was instrumental in getting a successful fast outcome in my petition. His work made the processing of my application by USCIS very smooth. Therefore, if anyone is willing to give John enough time and put in enough effort to prepare the petition, I believe he will get it approved.
I have heard from numerous sources that John will not take a case if he cannot get a positive outcome. This made me believe that he is not just after money. I highly recommend John if anyone believe in qualifying for EB1 green card. John is very professional immigration lawyer who will find effective legal avenues to get a...
Read moreWe called this company initially to set up an appointment. The receptionist who answered the phone gave me the details, but we decided not to move forward with them because my parents knew of a company that people were recommending. After meeting with that other company, we decided that it was best to just stick with someone within our state. My husband found this company (John W .Lawitt) so I told him I would call. I called them, not knowing I’ve called this company before, and I gave the receptionist my name. She proceeded to tell me that she had my information already and I refused to pay. I was completely shocked and taken aback at that response. I asked her ”what do you mean I refused to pay? Did you send me an invoice and I never paid it?” She said “we told you the details and you refused to pay”. Then she started reciting my information to me and said, “you refused to pay, that’s what I have in my notes. Do you want to move forward?!”. After that attitude she gave, and the implication that I would be dishonest and not pay for a service (a service I never used), I told her that I’ll get with my husband and let him know. However, I knew right then I would never go with them (even though I had all intentions to go with them and go through their whole process at this moment). After her attitude, I did not plan to move forward with this company. After telling her that I will talk to my husband, she said, “so you’re refusing to pay right?” And I said “I repeat, I’m going to speak with my husband”. Then I heard her begin to raise her voice, so I just hung up the phone. The receptionist is very rude. Beware.
Edit: Upon reflection, I do remember that this was the same sub-par receptionist who told me that the first step is for us to get married to proceed with the process AFTER I already gave her the information and used the words “my husband”… meaning we are already married. THAT’S why I didn’t go with them initially, because that decreased the company’s credibility to me.
And by the way Mrs. Receptionist, I don’t know who you think you were speaking with, but for your information, I can pay any fees you can come up with and more. However, I only choose to do that with people who have decency and proper customer...
Read moreMr. Lawit is a highly professional, organized attorney. We used his firm to get my wife's green card. The U.S. Immigration Service is full of very technical requirements for application processing. You cannot afford to make mistakes. Just one slight error might cost you the whole game. I hold a Masters degree in Business Administration, but I would never attempt it alone. Mr. Lawit helped us navigate through what would otherwise have been a legalistic minefield. From beginning to end, he and his staff walked us through the process with kid-glove care and knowledge. His staff was great to work with. They were completely up to the task of collecting what seemed to be a vast amount of information, yet always ready to go back and consult with Mr. Lawit if there was the slightest question. His style at our USCIS hearing was completely professional and helpful. When any question arose that we were not sure of, he politely coached us and we were taken in tow. Definitely, this long, difficult experience proved to come off without a hitch and he was well worth his fee....you can't afford NOT to use him. John Geyer Santa...
