I woke up in the middle of the night scratching and t turned on the lights to find bed bugs on the sheets. I discovered I had bite marks on my back of neck and legs. I contacted Wyndham Hotels who had the manager of the hotel call me back. I filed a report with the hotel and I called the city Health Department of Albuquerque who called me back. The hotel said they were going to fix the problem and they take it very serious. Less than a week later the City of Albuquerque called me back and said they had looked into it. They said they took proper procedures better than most hotels and fix the problem. They use three methods to kill the bugs. They used a fogger that use the heater to heat a room up and they use chemicals. I contacted the manager of the hotel after contacting the city and Mrs. Chavez offered me a free night for my problems. There is a serious problem with bedbugs and even the higher-end hotels in Albuquerque. Days Inn let you sleep on the same mattress after the bugs have been killed while Econo Lodge Old Town actually removes the mattresses and throws them away which is a better method. It's up to you whether you want to stay in this hotel but they did go out of the way to fix the problem and compensate me. I would feel better if they would throw away the mattresses and install bed bug protectors on the new ones but they don't do that. I have attached 3 photos. One of the bed bug one of the blood stains on my shirt and one of the bites on my neck.

I don't commonly give a review that is three stars. The staff was great and we didn't have any problem with them. The property, however, needed some serious updating. It looked like the flooring in our room was relatively new, so that was nice. However, the tub was badly stained and had a clear ring in it from dirt (pictures didn't reflect the stains). Some of the walls in the bathroom had mold growth. I also felt like the rooms were relatively barren. It didn't reflect the advertising. We had a hideaway bed that we used that didn’t appear to be vacuumed or cleaned in a minute. Although I would not say that the breakfast was bad, it wasn't very impressive either. My teens were excited because it had the waffle maker, which was a plus, but the breakfast was relatively limited, particularly if you do not like foods that are sweet. Having been a breakfast hostess myself at a hotel, I did feel like there weren't the kind of options there should be. It wasn't a bad stay, but I doubt I would return.

Clearly, the remodel is a few years old. But what I enjoyed so much about spending a night in room 115 are the friendly people. There were no wheelchair accessible rooms available but 115 was spacious enough. One of the employees carried my bags to the room. The front desk was great and the breakfast couldn't be better with a very nice breakfast lady. The two double beds were super comfortable, some of the best hotel mattresses I've ever slept on. The Priceline deal was great, a little under 60 including taxes. In the morning the pool wasn't open till 11 for cleanup, but the kind maintenance man let my bf and I swim anyway. That was much appreciated, as I'm in a lot of pain and a pool helps. The water was perfectly heated temperature. There's a little fridge and microwave, shampoo etc in the room, what more can a human being want? Even if it was a one night stay cation it felt like we were on holiday for a week. All in all, a great place, convenient location and friendly staff.

I usually don't partake in reviews but people need to be given some insight on this place or for better words Dump! Usually I try to keep a positive outlook on any expierence that I may come across, and lets just say DO NOT STAY HERE! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!! THERE IS NOTHING GOOD OR GREAT ABOUT THIS PLACE. The only thing that was positive and very pleasant was Only one staff member that worked at night that i did not get his name and went above and beyond to try to make my stay at least somewhat of an enjoyable expierence and made more of a positive expierence, I know he made good with what best if nothing at, all materials and knowledge to best fit and accomidate me and my family, and for him and him only would even entertain or indulge of ever staying at this Dump. Let me explain my expierence so you can get a better picture and be transparent as possible so you can make your own judgement to consider to stay. As I have said I never have partake in ever leaving a review, but this was the acception.| I arrived at this property at 11:00pm and was greated by a pleasant young man that explained in detail the location of my room, the parking, the morning breakfast, nearby eateries, made sure my reservation was correct, and if anything was needed or if any questions to call the front desk. This encounter went acceptionally well and was A++ service.| Parking and getting things out of my vehicle. As I had to make numerous trips to get our stuff to the room notice people out in the parking lot and I dont like to judge but lets just say probably not thier best moments in life (homeless). I was approached by one of these individuals briefly but was saved by the front desk staff member who immediately distracted the individuals attention to him and stated not to bother his guests and if they needed anything he would be of service. Again A+| Room was not like in the photos shown, the paintings were true and correct but they must have software to clean up or remove quality of items in room. The odor of the room of stale smoke and mold was less than desirable but dealt with it. Room had enough towels, bedding, bathroom ran down but looked like it was being maintained, toilet would not flush kept getting clogged. The floor could use a mop, as i took of my shoes and walked about and my socks on the bottom now where brown. Other patrons of the place constant in and out walking around yelling at eacother in the parking lot through the nigh, security walking around but wouldnt say anything to them, yet a again front desk staff I did witness did talk to whomever and they did lower thier tone. C-| Morning breakfast, as we were getting items I notice staff speaking to another customer from what i can over hear taking to much, to me that was not enough. If your gonna say free let customer get as much as they want but don't ever tell a customer they have gotten too much. Just don't have it at all. A tip jar in the middle of free breakfast come on you serve yourself, your told how much you can get, you do no service yet your soliciting a tip for something advertised as free and you provide no service. Interactions with other customers, staff was rude and acted superior l, no customer service skills. Insulting and speaking of other customers by staff total disgrace and let down. Would expect more or even an effort to atleast be made. The skinny long dark hair lady whom I thing was the GM needs to be fired in my opinion because of the way she spoke to the customers and as well to...

Spent a night, with my family, at this Day's Inn this past summer on my way to the West Coast. The room (non-smoking) that we got was extremely filthy, had a distinctly pungent smell, the carpet was stained, the mattresses were squeaking, and the bathroom was immensely dirty with hair in the bathtub and gross looking toilet. We even went to the reception asking them if our room can be switched, but they literally lied to our face saying that they are full. The reason I say that they lied is because their parking lot, at around 11 PM, was almost empty and neither did we see any lights on in any of the rooms nor any people on any of the floors on our side of the building.

Knowing that we had no option, we somehow slept for a few hours on those squeaking mattresses, mostly because we all were quite exhausted after a long day of travel. This place was so pathetic that that none of us felt like using any of their stuff (except the ones that we couldn’t do without) and left the place at the first light of dawn without any of us showering.

Being a traveler (have driven across 43 States so far), I have stayed at a lot of places (hotels / motels / inns / air bnbs) around the country and have to say that this place was the WORST; not even ONE thing was of a “decent” standard over here.

If you are passing by Albuquerque and don’t find any other place to spend your night at, then my suggestion would be that you spend the night in your car/truck rather than checking-in at this place.

####################################################### Edited after the response from the owner

Thank you for your response.

Based on it, I can very well say that it must have been before it came under the new management. I remember, during our stay, one section of the parking lot was being repaved.

I am glad to know that the new management has invested a lot in revamping this place.

During my next visit / stopover to Albuquerque, I would, most likely, would stop at this place again.

Again, your response is much appreciate and I wish you all the very best for your business, especially this coming holiday...

Spacious rooms and accommodating staff, but the facility could use a facelift.

I checked in about midnight. The first key cards didn't work, reportedly due to dead batteries in the lock, but the manager accompanied me to the second room to ensure I could access it easily. It was much appreciated.

I was given a suite (really two adjoining rooms with the interior doors removed--the second room had a pull-out sofa) on the second floor. The room was quite spacious. The showers and commodes (x2 in the suite) were clean. The bed was comfortable. The television offered plenty of choices in both English and Spanish. The free WiFi Internet was quick enough to get things done, even during busy periods. The facility itself, however, was a bit shabby and dated. The furniture showed its years of use. Doors and locks didn't always close easily. The place could use a good refreshing.

The free breakfast was decent: egg and cheese omelettes, sausage (patties and links on alternating days), fresh fruit, bread and muffins, cereal, guest-prepared Belgian waffles, yogurt, coffee and juice. There was plenty to satisfy.

I didn't use the outdoor pool, but other guests seemed to enjoy it. There are on-site, guest-operated laundry facilities and some exercise equipment available.

The location is quite convenient, right off I-25, with a variety of shops and restaurants nearby, especially on Jefferson St. The hotel is a few miles south of the Balloon Fiesta grounds. Highway noise (except for the irritating whine of adrenaline weenies on crotch rockets) was mostly blocked by an adjacent hotel. Parking could be a bit crowded.

Some of the clientele was brash and noisy, typical of lower-cost establishments. Twice in two weeks I had to shush patrons talking loudly in the wee hours of the morning on cellphones on the common balcony outside the room, but noise between rooms and between floors was minimal.

Overall, if you're on an expense account, there are definitely places more inviting, but this hotel offered excellent value for the cost. I would not hesitate to recommend it for a low-cost stay in...
