Sushi Nami—The Executive Standard: Where Distance Becomes Irrelevant and Excellence Is Always Worth the Drive

5316 Windward Pkwy Ste B, Alpharetta, GA 30004 (Exit 11 off GA-400, plenty of parking)[iexitapp +2]

As an executive who regularly entertains clients and colleagues from across Atlanta, I’ve experienced countless restaurants vying for “the best” title. Yet, time and time again, Sushi Nami is the first and only name I recommend—regardless of location, traffic, or occasion. What sets Sushi Nami apart isn’t just the sparkling fresh fish or artfully presented rolls; it’s the intentional commitment to excellence in every detail. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a team that treats every guest as a VIP. Whether I’m hosting high-profile clients or organizing a celebratory team dinner, the level of attentive, discreet service never wavers. The menu, led by creative masters in the kitchen, turns familiar sushi and sashimi into something cinematic: signature rolls like the Rainbow Roll and Fire Dragon Roll aren’t just delicious—they’re visually mesmerizing and perfectly balanced. The miso soup is deeply comforting, sashimi melts like the finest cut, and even staple items like edamame and tempura are executed with artistry that far exceeds expectations[tripadvisor +1]. Sushi Nami’s space is a study in understated luxury—not sprawling or loud, but beautifully intimate, making every conversation feel important and every meal, a personal event. Even parking, often overlooked, is ample and convenient, making it an easy gathering spot for professionals with demanding schedules and high standards. What truly differentiates Sushi Nami is consistency and innovation: they embrace special requests for private events, customize menus, and deliver flawless catering for corporate gatherings, ensuring that everything from a solo lunch to an executive board dinner feels memorable and bespoke. Clients, visiting dignitaries, and my own leadership team now request Sushi Nami by name. We’ve had guests drive from Buckhead and beyond—because once you experience this level of craftsmanship and hospitality, other options feel ordinary by comparison. In a city teeming with restaurants, Sushi Nami stands alone. Regardless of distance, it’s always worth the drive. For any business, executive, or discerning diner who values excellence, Sushi Nami is not just a recommendation: it’s the...

First time eating at Sushi Nami — the food was delicious. I ordered the spicy salmon roll and shrimp fried rice; the fried rice was one of the best I’ve had. The staff are really friendly and sweet. I’m only giving 4 stars because I think the overall operation seemed a bit unorganized. When I got there, there was no waitlist, and the hostess said she would just let me know when a table came available. Since she didn’t take down my name or information, I was a bit confused on how she was keeping track of walk-ins. I waited for about 15-20 minutes, watching others also struggle with reservations/wait list issues. Then, the same hostess approached me and asked if I needed anything/what I was waiting on. Again, I was a bit confused, and let her know that I had spoken with her previously about getting a table. It wasn’t that big of a deal, and I got a table soon after; but it was kind of worrisome to have to make sure you weren’t going to be overlooked or forgotten about.

Once at the table, I noticed that the serving staff was doing their best, but I think they were a bit overwhelmed and didn’t seem to have a real system for waiting tables. Sometimes it was difficult to get your server or any server to come over.

The last thing I’ll say is that if you’re COVID-conscious this probably isn’t the place for you as a lot of customers were not wearing masks when they entered, walked around the restaurant, or when they left. The staff didn’t really seem to have an issue with it and weren’t asking people to put masks on.

Overall impression — great food, friendly staff, but probably a better spot to order take out rather...

I've gone here several times for lunch and had a decent experience, but last night at dinnertime this place was an absolute trainwreck. Service was atrocious. My wife and I ordered the same sushi dinner but I believe only one was put on the ticket - hers came out within 10 minutes while it took over 40 minutes to get mine. While I waited, I noticed raw sushi plates sitting out for 20 minutes or longer waiting to be picked up and taken to customers - we were seated right next to where all the dishes piled up at the sushi bar. People sitting around us were sending food back for having browned avocado or chicken that was pink and undercooked. At one point the hostess came by to pick up a to-go order and leaned over the counter onto a plate of sushi rolls waiting to be picked up - they still went out to the customer. The chefs behind the sushi bar were in a constant state of confusion and disarray. Nobody was running food or busing tables. When we were finally done, it took another half hour for the server to bring our check so we could leave. These people should be ashamed at charging the prices they do and having such mismanaged, terrible service. We're never coming back here. What a...

A complete and total surprise to find something this good. The food preparation is done at the bar: exquisitely fresh ingredients combined with a true Japanese, artful esthetic of restraint and beauty in presentation. Plating was on a collection of varied dishes that clearly have been collected. The portioning was fulsomely generous without being too much. The service was impeccable. Both attentive and unobtrusive. What really blew me away was the variety of unusual fish and shellfish. Really extraordinary for its location. You will look long and hard to find such quality combined with a certain refined casual air that reminds me of neighborhood sushiyas in Japan. A hidden GEM. I will be going back. Oh, and yes they do omakase...

Use to be a great treat! I don't know if they just don't care about takeout orders, or if it's gone down hill. I use to love their Ahi Poke. It had balsamic reduction, roe, soy sauce, radish sprouts, a nice portion of avocado and tuna chunks. It was a beautiful tall cylinder. Now it is a minuscule portion for nearly $20. No posted prices on line, so your shooting in the dark which feels like a game. Some people like to budget. And they must have been out of balsamic reduction, it tasted sweet, but very vinegary, like regular sushi rice vinegar, not thick, not pretty, very expensive. Booo-hoo. Soy sauce packet for size reference.

I came in on a Thursday after 5Pm. I was seated quickly, and served my food quickly. I ordered two 8 piece sushi, nigiri, and appetizers, totaling around 60$. The food was very good, my only complaint was the rice. The rice was not sticky, which caused the sushi to fall apart into the soy sauce. I found myself scooping rice out of the sushi bowl several times. I would not mind trying this place again though, as the food was still good. The menu also only has one type of ramen (pork), a variety would be appreciated.
