This review is mainly us expressing how important it is to NOT HAVE COCKROACHES IN YOUR HOTEL ROOM ESPECIALLY WHEN GUESTS HAVE CHILDREN!!!! I WILL be attaching photos/videos of the bugs that we found!! I found ONE cockroach FRIDAY NIGHT and they offered me 50% off for last night (the night I found it).. what if I found 2? Would I then be offered 100% of the night compensated??? Forget the slap in the face of a compensation, I HAVE 2 KIDS!!!! 1 of them isn’t even a year old and that’s all they “offered to do for the inconvenience”
The following is a review of our stay from 10/10 - check in and 10/14 - check out
When we arrived we noticed that it was what to expect from an inn. Parking lot was decent, rooms were good sized for the price. Beds were EH, my wife and I both felt discomfort after sleeping on those beds but after a long day at Disneyland we can live with uncomfortable beds. Pillows were also not the greatest.
On FRIDAY was when we experienced things.. first we opened a “brand new” toilet paper roll and found a BUG digging into the toilet paper!!
Then we come back from the park at 9:57 PM and as I was about to put my kids into bed since they were both sleeping, my wife SCREAMS to high heaven!!! I thought she got hurt or something from how loud she screamed… I turn around and see her by the sink that there is a BIG cockroach by her leg!!
She kept saying “I felt something on my leg and then it jumped to my other leg”.. So I CAUGHT the cockroach and brought it to the night shift front desk, unfortunately I didn’t get her name but when I came to her, to my surprise she didn’t seem too surprised that I caught a cockroach… so she gave me the names of her managers that would be in the next morning, Jessica, Peter & Omar. The fact that your front desk isn’t jumping back that a guest found a cockroach tells me all I need to know about how often these things happen… MIND YOU THIS ALL HAPPENED ON MY DAUGHTER’S BIRTHDAY!!
So the night front desk lady gave me a plastic bag and I wrapped the toilet paper that had the cockroach in it into the bag and placed that bag into the safe in our room so I could bring it to them in the morning and show exactly what the hell I caught..
The manager Jessica even said “cockroaches are a known issue and they have them treated for weekly but unfortunately things like this still happen”… UNFORTUNATELY?! I asked her and she said she didn’t have kids and the man next to her, Giovanni didn’t want to answer if he had kids, but the reason I asked is WHAT IF THIS WAS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY?! What if your kids got sick from a cockroach…. What if something worse happened?! Would that still just be a SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS?!?! That’s an unacceptable answer from one human being to another…
I believe she even spoke to possibly the hotel owner that morning around 9AM (10/14) when we checked out and that’s the compensation and empathy I received directly from him.. I know it’s not up to her and he was more than likely her higher up/owner/boss so I totally get that it’s out of her control but the fact that it seemed so “normal” and they were all unbothered by the situation really shook me to the core and that’s what bothered me the most out of it.. The sheer utter lack of empathy or care for that matter.
We will definitely NOT be staying here again and as far as that “half off the night” compensation that they offered, that was more of a slap in the face than a compensation…
Last note, please take off the “health inspection” passed that is posted in your lobby.. A hotel should NOT HAVE COCKROACHES if it passed a...
Read moreWe stayed here beginning of July and absolutely loved it so much we are going back in September. The location is within walking distance to the park. Plenty of shops, drugstores and restaurants in the area. We did not have to pay a parking fee at the hotel which was nice. It has a nice outdoor pool which is handicap accessible. There is also onsite laundry which is another bonus. It is an older style clean looking motel an we received quite a surprise when we got to our room. The only really negative was breakfast was not the best, had the most waffle makers we have seen at a hotel but the room it was held in is way to small to accommodate the number of people trying to eat there in the morning. I have to admit we were given room 151 right beside where housekeeping is at back of the lot and I was very worried about noise. I was very wrong about this as we did not here a sound in our room..... most times I have to sleep with the TV on to drown outside noises and I didn't this time! When we opened up our door we were greeted with a updated, newly renovated room, we were so impressed! There is a fridge and microwave in the room and the fridge was larger than most mini fridges we've found in other hotel rooms which was a bonus. The bed is extremely comfortable. Our room did not come with a bathtub but had a nice room a shower. We did walk to the Disney Parks the first night and by the time we got back over feet were fairly sore so the next morning we bought bus tickets at the front desk and the bus pulls right out in front of the hotel and takes you right to a Disney park! At the end of the day we go to where the buses are picking everybody up, look for bus number 6 and you're taking back to our Motel! That is a huge plus when you put on many many miles in the Parks and you don't feel like you can walk anymore. The front desk staff was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. You cannot go wrong with this motel for price point, cleanliness and just an overall great location. Highly...
Read moreThis is a budget-friendly hotel with some good amenities. The hotel itself has a decent pool and spa, and also has a small self-serve gift shop, however I do not suggest using the gift shop as the prices were very high. There is a Walgreens/CVS half a block to the west, where you can grab any necessities you may require. This hotel is well within walking distance to Disneyland Park's for adults, although small children may get tired of the walk. I will say that you feel very safe throughout the walk to the Park's, even at night, as the hotel is located in a very busy location which is well lit and very well kept. As I said before, this is a budget-friendly hotel, so do not expect anything fancy in the way of rooms. The bed was not very comfortable, and was really showing its age, the shower's drain did not drain very quickly, and there are really only the small brown blanket and a sheet for the bed. The four non-decorative sleeping pillows, were not very good (although that is a lot of personal preference). When we stayed here the weather was not the greatest and therefore it would become very cold in our room (we are from Canada, so when I say cold, I mean it). We would be forced to crank the heat on the rooms AC/Heater and this would make the room VERY warm, if not hot. It seemed it was a constant battle to find the sweet spot for temperature. The room was quite clean however, we were located directly next to the laundry room, which became very loud. Also, we were ground floor and could very easily hear the family in the room above ours. Luckily we did not have another room on the opposite side. Walls were thin. Staff was incredibly nice and always welcoming and easy to speak with. Additionally, they were fluent in both English and Spanish. Overall, it was a decent 1 week stay at the King's Inn, and perfect for my billfold, but I sure was looking forward to my own bed and pillow toward the end. Enjoy your trip to the most Magical...
