Some background: I've managed several restaurants and have worked in executive hospitality for many years.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co Restaurant for the first time, and I can confidently say that it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I entered the establishment, I was struck by the warm, inviting atmosphere, and the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen. The nautical-themed décor, paying homage to the beloved Forrest Gump film, added a charming touch to the overall ambience.
My server and bartender, Nick, was the epitome of professionalism and attention to detail. He expertly guided me through each of the seven steps of service, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of spectacular.
Greeting - Nick greeted me with a genuine smile and a warm welcome as soon as I entered the restaurant. His friendly demeanor immediately put me at ease and set the tone for the evening.
Seating - Nick swiftly and courteously invited me to the bar when we saw me sauntering through the restaurant, which was immediately set, and ensured that I was comfortably seated before presenting me with the menu.
Drink Order - Nick's extensive knowledge of the beverage offerings was truly impressive. He recommended a delightful cocktail pairing for my meal, which I found to be an excellent choice.
Taking the Order - As I perused the menu, Nick took the time to answer all of my questions and provided thoughtful suggestions based on my preferences. His thorough understanding of each dish's ingredients and preparation demonstrated his dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience.
Serving the Meal - My meal arrived in a timely manner and was beautifully presented. The Mac and Cheese, served in a small cast iron skillet, had a golden, crispy crust that gave way to a creamy, cheesy interior that was pure comfort food heaven. The gumbo, rich with flavor and packed with succulent shrimp, was the epitome of authentic Southern cuisine.
Check-backs and Refills - Throughout my meal, Nick consistently checked in to ensure that everything was to my satisfaction. He attentively refilled my water glass and promptly addressed any additional needs I had.
Presenting the Check and Farewell - Nick presented the check discreetly and thanked me for dining at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. As I left the restaurant, he wished me a pleasant evening and expressed his hope that I would return soon.
The combination of outstanding service, delectable food, and a warm atmosphere make Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co a must-visit dining destination. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience, and I encourage you to request Nick as your server - his dedication to the seven steps of service and his commitment to ensuring a memorable evening will...
Read moreTerrible service/experience. We were staying at a hotel in Anaheim and we had spent the day at Disney. Ordered food to go from the BG website through Waitr 9:11 pm. I went to pickup the food about 20 min after the order. I was greeted at the host stand and directed to the bar. I informed the bartender I had a to go order, he said it would be a couple of minutes. I ordered a beer while I waited. Made small talk with a couple of friendly employees. Finally inquired again about my order status about 45 min after the order had been placed. Starting to get frustrated. Looked over to see the bartender and a manager together punching an order into the computer. I realized that my order had never gotten placed and that no one had actually gone into the kitchen to check on the status of my order. Bartender tells me they are working on it and it will be out shortly. Now it is after 10pm and still no food. I ask to speak with a manager. At 10:15 the manager finally brings my food. Just "here you go." No sorry this took an hour, or hey, we took off the kids meals because it took so long. I asked him about discounting or comping the meal because it took so long. He moved the bag of food away from me and put it on the other side of him. "So you don't want the food?" He says. I tell him I couldn't care less, but that I was definitely NOT paying for it. After a bit of back and forth he finally did say sorry for the wait and that he would contact Waitr and have the charges refunded. Kids were asleep when I finally got back to the hotel. Terrible service and awful management. Plus, I had asked for no onions on my sandwich, and they messed that up too....
Read moreI never write bad reviews, but this one was very bad. First, I asked the girl at the reception a place for two. She briefly left, then she came back asking again for how many people. It was clearly me and my 6 years old just standing there. She grabbed 2 menus. My daughter noticed the bucket of pencils and grabbed one. The girl apologized for not even noticing there was a child with me and said she was going to bring us the kids' menu as well for coloring. After 15 minutes at the table, we were still waiting for the kids menu. I stopped another waiter asking for it. He brought it soon after. Then we waited another 20 minutes for someone to come get our order. I stopped the manager who was clearly sorry and took the order from us right away. The waiter assigned to our table came a few minutes later apologizing for the delay. After a bit, our order finally came. The food was ok, nothing crazy. Except that, as a side with the kids meal, I ordered "fresh fruit" as it stated on the menu. We received a little cup with some blue colored jelly full of artificial colors and flavors. I guess that's what they sell as fresh fruit! Anyway, nobody came to check on our meals until we were almost done. I paid my bill and left about 5% of it as a tip and I felt very generous. I'm sorry for the waiter who got us probably on a busy night, although it didn't seems so, but I was expecting a much better experience from a franchising...
