This hotel could be great but it lacks greatly in housekeeping and mildly in maintenance. If they can get these two things worked out the hotel would be a nice place to stay. The beds were comfortable (once we were able to use them), the shower was nice, and the breakfast was better than some other places I have stayed at. The rooms looked fairly new, maybe recently remodeled? However, the rooms were NOT cleaned from the previous occupants they appeared to just be remade! We had a double queen room and one of the beds had obvious soiling on the fitted sheet which looked like possible blood as well as what appeared to be blood drops on one of the pillows. The other bed looked clean but when the sheets were pulled back the bottom sheet looked as if it had been laid in. There was a used hand towel hanging in the bathroom and at least one that was used but refolded hanging with the others. Needless to say, I did not trust the towels and requested new towels for our shower. We also requested new bedding for both beds. We were unable to get fitted sheets because they had none to give so we used flat sheets on the bed and got new blankets for cover. The pillow cases we were given were the zippered pillow covers but at least they were clean. Once we cleaned the room and changed the bedding we were able to get a little bit of sleep. The sheets are soft and would have been nice to use them properly as well as having soft pillow cases instead of the rough pillow covers. The panel under the nightstand was off so we just propped it up against the wall and the peep hole cover would just fall down so people could just look through it! We ended up stuffing a tissue in it to cover that up. Overall we were quite disappointed with this hotel and wouldn't trust staying here again with the current level of...
Read moreOn April 29 my wife and I checked in for a 4 night stay. As we do at every hotel, we hang the Do Not Disturb sign on the door at night, so as to not be interrupted or walked in on while showering and getting ready in the morning. We then remove the sign upon leaving the room for the day. On the morning of April 30 we left the room at 8:30 am, and removed the sign to ensure housekeeping services would be completed. Upon returning to the room in the evening, we found that it had NOT been serviced. I went to the front desk and inquired as to the reason. This was the response. "At 7:00 am we make rounds on all floors and take note of any room that has a DND sign on the door. If that room is not scheduled for a check-out, we do not service the room, even if the sign is later removed by the guest." What??? Not everyone leaves the room before 7:00 am. One would think that the management would have enough concern for ensuring a positive guest experience that they would have the housekeeper go back to the room to see if the sign had been removed, and then complete the expected service. Or at the very least, inform the guests at check-in that if the DND sign is on the door at 7:00 am, the room will not be serviced. But I guess this is just one more way to cut back on costs, and to deny the housekeepers the opportunity for a higher paycheck. So be informed. If you want your room serviced, remove the DND sign prior to 7:00 am. (PS -- I am unable to edit the nickname on this review. Such nickname is not necessarily applicable to...
Read moreIf I were 5 feet tall this would have been a great place to stay. New hotel you would think it was ready to use its not. many items need attention. the tile missing around the windows in the eating area. One of the elevators the door is hanging crooked and the is already scratched. I'd have them replace it new is new old run down is the old place. the elevators need programming finished or at least looked at floor three is floor 3 not 4. one doesn't even show the floor your on. Elevator 2 is like a refrigerator supper cold all the time. lt would be great in the summer. the outlets in the room are loose when you plug in a cord they are part of the furniture and won't last more than a few days. LAST Item The shower door; I am 6 feet tall. the top of the shower rail is about 5 feet 6 inches. I had to duck to get into the shower. I failed to duck low enough and split the top of my head open. Managment took 10% off my bill for the unfortunate injury that wouldn't have happened if this door was the same as the other room I was in. I rented two rooms for 2 days. This one happened to have a short door and caused the injury. Overall impression is not that great many little things should have been taken care of ahead of letting people stay. I hope the Staybridge is better...
