Studio 6 Artesia, CA — Hotel in Artesia

Terrible hotel. And I stayed in the Studio 6 portion which is more expensive than the Motel 6 rooms. Dirty room and dirty hall . Trash in bags and wastebaskets by the elevator in plain sight. And here is the best part: the house phone in my room is dead and the drain in my tub is blocked up. So I called the front desk from my cell at 8:30 AM to inform management of these two problems and I was already out of the room to work so they could send a plumber or handyman to correct these 2 problems. The receptionist told me the handyman would be at work at 9:30 AM and she would send him “right up” at 9:30 AM. Well…..I just returned to my room at 10:30 PM and no one had come in to my room to fix the two problems. So I put on a rubber glove and with two Q-tips, I first dug out a large amount of dirty hair and scum out of the drain. I then used the palm of my hand as a plunger over the tub drain and finally got it to open up and drain better, so I can take a QUICK shower in the morning. I have stayed in Studio 6 locations which were just the opposite of this terrible place. Read ALL of the reviews on a place, not just the good ones, before you pay for a room. Stay away from this Artesia, CA Studio/Motel 6 location. Management is not proud of their hotel as it certainly does not show it. I am so sad this is a dump compared to other Studio 6 location...

The staff was nice, but the room itself was extremely unpleasant and dirty. There was dirt all over the floors in the room, and it looked as if it hadn't been swept or mopped in weeks. Not only was the first room extremely unpleasant and dirty. It was not the room that I reserved. I reserved a King Size Suite and was initially given a queen size room. I spoke with the front desk and was initially informed that they didn't have any king-size rooms available. This was appalling due to the fact that I reserved a king-size bed through the website. After a few minutes, the front desk said he would check and for me to wait by my room. We then went to another room, which was a king-size bed, but again, not the suit I reserved. I asked him about the room I reserved, and he said it wasn't available. That was unfortunate and totally put a dent in my entire stay since the suite was the only reason I traveled so far to this location and paid the price compared to a regular room for $89. The next room was just as dirty as the first. The ceiling had a huge black mold stain that should really be fixed immediately. The shower was full of dirt and soap scum and the mirror had toothpaste on it . Out of all the locations I stayed at, this was the worst, and never again will I stay in...

I've been coming to studio 6 for a great while now. Don't know if I'll ever be coming back now. After calling directly and booking the room with the kitchen of course. Then arriving checking in and confirmed a kitchen of course with the front desk lady. The stove top burners were not functioning when I got in the room. I drove back to the front desk and all of a sudden a complete different persons behind the desk and this lady is already argumentative defensive tells me to leave when I'm asking for a kitchen in the room she just told me that had a kitchen. Obviously she was not helpful, probably won't get my money back since it was the same day looking....
