My boyfriend, daughter, and I stayed here for a weekend earlier this month for my birthday. I really wanted to like this place. I carefully selected this place based off of reviews and had high hopes. The photos and lobby are super misleading. My boyfriend wanted to stay somewhere else and after the room we walked into at almost midnight, he was right. We only stayed because I did not want the hassle of finding another place in the middle of the night after a 6+ hour drive and it was just a weekend. I understand the hotel is a bit outdated and has been renovated, but that excuses nothing. The room smelled like USED CAT LITTER and it was pungent and impossible to ignore. Bad enough that I bought a bottle of febreze to mask the horrible smell the next night. The room was disgusting. Black grease stains on the very loose toilet seat and lid, the remote and it's cardboard stand (that boasts how easy it is for the remote to be cleaned thanks to its design) both had marks of caked on grime, the sleeper couch was heavily stained and worn down (enough that I refused to let my daughter sleep on it), desk was scratched up with smears all over it and the desk chair was picked away and peeling, mystery wet spots in the carpet throughout the weekend by the bathroom wall, half the lamp charging outlets didn't work. And not sure what was up with the AC, but no matter how low we put it, the room felt like it didn't go under 75, even my boyfriend whos always cold stated it was too hot even though we set the unit to 67F. Not to mention they didn't program our room key right the first night (per the front desk) so after a full day of running around, we came back the second night, hands full of bags, unable to get into our room. Had to trek back across the hotel to the desk with hands full just to listen to the front desk chatter away about nonsense with another guest while we stood with our hands full for 10 minutes waiting for the conversation to end so we could get in our room to shower and sleep. I had hoped when housekeeping "cleaned the room" while we were gone Saturday, that we would at least walk into a cleaner room since the bar was already at rock bottom. It looked like they only remade the uncomfortable bed and emptied the trash cans. Same grime everywhere. Same smell. Even the same big grease stain on the toilet lid. Not even any surfaces wiped down, just the bed and trash. I've stayed at motels that had more attentive housekeeping with rooms. The ONLY good things about this place were the breakfast (which was delicious, with lots of options) and location right off of 26 (although the side road to it only has a tiny little paper sign thats hard to spot at night). The Mexican place attached also has...

Once we were checked in immediately noticed the filthy stairwell leading to the second floor, after a closer look noticed blood on the banister. Called front desk(female) to notify them, they stated they would get it cleaned up. Saturday morning attended their full breakfast, my husband who eats everything wouldn’t even finish his plate. It was cold and had no taste. After breakfast returned to our room called front desk and asked them just to switch our towels out in our room. Female asked us to leave our do not disturb on our door and she would notify the cleaning staff for the towels. Left the hotel, then returned the night to all our dirty towels and no clean ones. Had to bug the front desk for almost two hours to get clean towels. Sunday we did not put our do not disturb on our door thinking they would tend to our room as normal. Welp returned late that evening and room had not been touched. Visited front desk to report our room not being cleaned that day. The pool outside is in unacceptable condition. And now Monday (our check out day) the railing with blood on it still has not been cleaned. I will not be returning. This hotel was not worth the price I paid to stay for three days. I shouldn’t have to keep reminding my kids not to touch the railing and things inside a hotel. If I could post pictures to this review I would!!! They had charged my card for the full price at check in so I was not in a financial situation to start switching hotels. This trip was family related not a vacation. Next time I will do more research before...
Read moreExceptionally rude staff! After a very long days work we called this hotel (and explained to the lady that we were sitting in the hotel parking lot) and were told that the cost of the room was over $200 per night and advised us to book online to get a lower rate. You could tell she just wanted to get us off the phone with doing as little work as possible. She was incredibly rude over the phone but we decided to try it anyway as it was 2am and we were exhausted. After booking online we walked inside the hotel to be greeted by not one but two superbly rude ladies. One of the ladies whom I will call Auburn hair older lady, (the same one I first spoke to on the phone and knew I had called from the parking lot) rudely told me that I could not check in the hotel until 4pm that evening but I would have to book another room to check into immediately with no refund for booking online. The hotel was far from full so it wasn't a situation that rooms were tight. She was trying to be hateful. As nice and professional as I could be I explained the situation to a short blonde haired older lady that had walked up during my conversation with Auburn (supposedly the manager) snapped at me and told me that I could not change the room, get a refund and buy a new one but that my Only option was to purchase an additional room. The sad part is I believe that they must treat more than just me this way. A lady came in behind me trying to get a room and they bit her head off so I witnessed her leave as well. Working in the hospitality industry I would expect more from my staff and this type of behavior would come with...
