Very expensive city. Overrated in my opinion. All restaurants expensive to very expensive. Stores, very expensive. Ladies at the tourist center, volunteers for sure, not very helpful. If you ask for cheaper places to eat, an entire conversation starts. And you end up knowing less than you've known before you ask for info. Their conclusion, and yours too, wanted or not. There are no cheap places to eat in Aspen. And you know what? They are right. They have a very nice thrift store, always very busy. I cannot imagine why? Lol If you travel to Aspen through Independence Pass, be prepared for rain, snow, high altitude roads, some portions very dangerous. But worth it, I would say.
