The Grand Castalian was our home away from home for the past several days, and we join the chorus of other customers singing its praises! Our room—The Appalachian—is one of five uniquely-themed and tastefully restored guest bedrooms. It was comfortable and well appointed, with a restful king bed and great shower tiled in a river stone theme. The new Roku TV, Keurig in room, good air conditioning, fast WiFi, and high quality linens all added to a host of amenities that made it hard to leave the room. But when we did, the common areas were just as welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was yet another highlight, with several hot food options each morning, along with delectable fresh fruit with yogurt and tasty granola. Fresh artisanal coffee direct from Colombia and homemade baked goods were plentiful. Breakfast provided an ideal start to each day before venturing into Berkeley Springs and surroundings. The mineral springs, with options there for Roman Baths and spa treatments, are in the heart of town a short walk from the Grand Castalian. The town is quiet and comfortable with several good restaurants. After a fine meal at Proof on Washington one night, we enjoyed a free movie at the town cinema, which itself is a quaint and authentic step back in time to the 1940’s. The theater began operations in 1928 and is clean and comfortable and, thankfully, not modernized. It’s perfect as is! After dinner and a movie, the Grand Castalian welcomed us back with open arms for a quiet and restful sleep. Bob and Nickole are excellent hosts—they are both kind and engaging without being intrusive. Nickole appears to do most of the cooking and does so with skill, and Bob helps immeasurably to see that guests have everything they need at breakfast and beyond. Check in and check out were smooth. We hope to check in again soon, and genuinely look forward to staying at the Grand Castalian during our next trip to Berkeley Springs.

Our stay at The Grand Castalian Inn Bed and Breakfast was absolutely fantastic! We chose the 50s-themed room, and it was such a fun and nostalgic experience. The vintage movie screen and all the carefully curated fifties décor made it feel like we had stepped back in time. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. We also loved the little extras that made our stay even more special. The option for early check-in and late check-out was a great convenience, and the charcuterie board for two was absolutely delicious—such a perfect way to kick off our visit! The chilled spring water waiting in the fridge was another thoughtful touch. One of the best parts was the giant two-person jetted tub—it was amazing! So relaxing, and it really added to the luxury of the stay. The robes and towels were also incredibly soft and comfortable, making everything feel even more indulgent. The breakfast included was delicious and filling! Hosts Bob and Nickole were so warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We had such a great time that we’re already planning to come back and try out the other themed rooms. If they’re anything like this one, we know we’re in for another incredible stay. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a unique, cozy, and relaxing getaway!

This was my first time visiting Berkeley Springs and I found The Grand Castalian through a Google search. When I tell you, this is the cutest little bed-and-breakfast. I only had the chance to meet Nickole, but she was the sweetest lady. I stayed in the Appalachian room and it was so cozy. The continental breakfast was such a treat, Nickole made a homemade banana bundt, plus had all sorts of other goodies set out. If you get the chance, definitely book with Nickole and Bob. The bed-and-breakfast is clean and inviting and it's within walking distance of downtown. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for a quick getaway. Thank you, Nickole and Bob! I will definitely be back!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Castalian B&B! Check-in was a breeze, and the location was very convenient for visiting downtown Berkeley Springs. Communication with the hosts was clear and prompt, both before our arrival and throughout our visit, which made everything stress-free. Breakfast was a real treat with plenty of delicious options to choose from. Our room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the quiet surroundings made for a truly restful night’s sleep. The owners were warm and welcoming, adding a personal touch that made us feel right at home.

During our visit, we enjoyed the Summer Music Series sponsored by the MAC Ice House—an excellent lineup of free live music that brought the community together in such a fun way. A highlight of our trip was visiting the Berkeley Springs State Park Main Bathhouse, where we indulged in the Roman bath and massage—absolutely rejuvenating. One of the hidden gems we stumbled upon was Big Goats Ice Cream & Hot Dog Shack, which offers not only ice cream and hot dogs, but also pulled pork BBQ. We enjoyed a flight of four flavors from Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream while enjoying the breathtaking mountain view.

If you’re looking for comfort, charm, and a great home base to explore all that Berkeley Springs has to offer, the Grand Castalian B&B is an...
